No (see below) but I don't know how that influences The Curse. Does it help to have another Bill Buckner in the system now, 18 years after the spine cracking collapse of our shoe-in champs?

 

From the AP: In the second round, the Royals selected a college pitcher who bears a familiar baseball name. Billy Buckner, a right-hander from South Carolina who is not related to the former Red Sox first baseman, was 6-2 in the regular season this year, with a 3.16 ERA in 14 games.

More on the draft - Sox drafted Terry Francona's son in the 40th round, but he's taking his scholarship to Penn instead (good call).
