Hard to pick a guy with his injury history as a "favorite".

Baseball-Reference doesn't project too highly for him either:

LOL, maybe they just assume he will be injured again and be pitching out of the bullpen by the end of the year as he ramps back up to be a starter.

He has never had a save in his life. None of the other projections (ZiPS, OOPSY, Steamer, ATC, etc) have him pitching at all out of the pen.

I get that.

But it is not unheard of for a starter to pitch out of the pen late in the year if they are coming back from an injury and aren't ramped up to go 5 innings or so.

It would be more probable if the sox were fighting for the playoffs down the stretch in that scenario.
