  1. Witt isn’t Soto. Soto is a bad corner outfield with future DH written all over him. The nationals made the padres look like fools for that trade. Witt is hands down top 3 player in baseball. Soto is top 10 but I don’t know if he cracks top 5 with Ohtani, Judge, Witt, Skubal, Yordan in my top 5. He sits in the Harper, Tatis, Guerrero, Henderson, Acuna level and probably worse defense than all of them and probably #1 in offense. Witt is young at a position that tends to stay in great shape long into their career. He has a better chance of playing later into his career like A Rod or Jeter at a higher level than turning into a Soto who’s going to continue getting fatter and slower and may turn into a Big Papi doubles home run and walk machine but has to be in a DH role for 7-10 years. if you replace Witt with Soto in that Nationals trade I don’t know if that’s a crazy bad deal if you end up signing him thru his entire career. Abrams great bat he should now be a 2nd basemen, saw hassell for a minute no clue what’s up with him, wood looks fantastic but he’s Stanton and judge size so how long does that last, gore looked great his arm will blow off sooner or later and probably for multiple seasons.
  2. If you do it right you’re not depleting the system. You trade for young controllable so you don’t need to have all these prospects ready to go in 1-2 years. You draft the next batch and build them up. They are all shots in the dark anyways. Plus breslow went heavy on older college players that have a chance of moving up fast just like godbout and eyanson they are a year away from replacing the arias Tolle early guys anyways. Deplete the system more prospects will be ready in 3-5 years most the core roster is under 30 anyways.
  3. I feel like nobody sees the big picture everyone keeps saying he’s untouchable. KC is not a big market team they are already talking about selling off wacha and Lugo and clearing that money, why would KC want to pay Witt $23 mil next year for a lockout and then 3 years later not even be able to sign him long term for what he’s worth.. his hometown discount deal is still worth $50-$60 mil a year and that will give the royals no money to spend around him . So now you got him for 3 years chancing injury and fall of play when you have a huge market for RHH right this second that would pay a ransom. Right now they could capitalize potentially save $70 mil from taking their 3 top paid guys off the payroll. Get a freaking haul for Witt that are younger and longer control than Witt. it’s a perfect situation im sending Roman-Early-Arias-Eyanson-J Gonzales-Witherspoon and Meyer for Witt/Lugo and eat Lugo’s money with it and not batting an eye. Red Sox showed they’d sign Soto so why not go get a better fit in Witt and pay him $800 million till he retires.
  4. Wong has been doing well but they gave up a pretty solid pitching prospect who has already pitched some good big league games for Narvaez and talked him up last year as your #1 and he’s the guy and Wong is having some decent numbers and it seems like they’ve just given up on Narvaez altogether. I mean Yoshida obviously hitting way better than Duran but they aren’t just benching Duran 3-4 games a week. I get it Duran defensive is far superior than Yoshida and Wong and Narvaez defense isn’t that drastic of a difference but what about Eaton putting up solid numbers in Worcester had some great AB’s when called up plays better defense than Yoshida and gets sent down. Monasterio has hit the ball well all season and given us solid def at SS but we’d only see him once a week when story and Meyer batting below .200… there’s got to be something more with Narvaez for them to just turn a 180 and not give him more games with how well he played last year getting the bulk of the games.
  5. They got to just let Narvaez play. I know they are worried about wearing him down but he’s never gonna figure out his bat with 8-12 live AB’s a week. I still got faith in him but he needs to be giving the kingdom or send him away for a true #1 Catcher if they are seeing something we aren’t,
  6. I don’t know if I’m mentally ready for another expirement. Gets us all excited until they spend half the year on IL or fall off a cliff. Casas, Meyer, Anthony, KC…. Arias next. Can’t keep rushing these guys. I’d love to see Arias spend the rest of the year in AA and maybe a May/June call up next year if he sticks around and keeps it up.
  7. That would be a solid deadline in my opinion. I’d be content
  8. So Story is your answer at SS because you aren’t putting Gleyber or B Lowe there. I love B Lowe but SS is the bigger issue I feel, we are getting great defense at 2B but we are getting bad def and offense at SS
  9. I’m not against Lugo at all. And if you need to put Early in a trade and replace him with Lugo I think that would be fantastic. I still don’t love the idea of getting a 2B and banking on Story coming back. I love their defensive play without Story at SS. I think when he comes back defense drops off again. I’d prefer a SS a solid defensive one in Pena or Neto and maybe look at a Story/Siegler/Meyer pairing at 2B. but I agree with a lot of people that maybe it’s a LHB they need because how horrendous they’ve been against RHP which leads more towards a Lindor/Abrams trade but neither Lindor or Abrams are long term SS and I don’t think you can put Arias in a trade unless it’s Pena/Neto.
  10. Wow that is very interesting. Has Bennett gained any BTV value from his solid performances so far?
  11. please no. I’ve hated Torres since the Yankees I don’t know why just looks like he doesn’t love the game
  12. This is a solid guess based off history. I could truly see this happening and hopefully France turns into 80% of Steve Pearce lol
  13. Interesting. BTV thinks as highly as I do on Tolle I guess too. Tolle, Durbin, Abreu, and Rafaela should be off the table all 21 other players on the roster and the whole minors system are fair game.
  14. I guess I’m not too far off when you got Bradfo suggesting the same thing… if you could do Anthony, Arias, Eyanson for Witt I don’t know how they say no. The royals will never pay Witt what he deserves after the 1st extension even if he takes a hometown discount, you get Anthony who’s already signed long term on a cheaper deal and 2 high end prospects who have years of control. A hometown discount on Witt for the royals would be 12 for $600 mil. If soto can get $750 Witt better get that or more and the Red Sox were willing to go for that on Soto who made less sense for their team than Witt does
  15. If the Red Sox take on lugo’s full salary can we replace Tolle with early?
  16. What’s the difference on BTV for tolle vs early? If I’m being honest I think Tolle might be the only one off limits. He is a Boston guy through and through with the highest ceiling. I think for a marquee player they would consider early but I don’t see Bresbot trading Tolle. I’d even be okay trading Anthony over Tolle
  17. Witt, Tatis, or Yordan.. they have the capital. They keep trying to go huge but the names that are available aren’t good enough to go huge. I think Witt is more available than Tatis or Yordan but I still think the Sox have the right people to get Kansas, Houston, or San Diego talking. Duran stays if they go big name SS but if they can get a Tatis or Yordan idc if they send Duran packing. They need to go big and these 3 names are the only ones that make sense for their needs and desires.
  18. I keep seeing these Neto, Pena, Abrams, and Lindor names tossed around but realistically why not Witt? The Royals need a restart and who better than the Sox to do it? Breslow keeps finding pitchers and he will replace prospects lost. I don’t see how this deal below doesn’t get it done. Boston gets Witt-Beck Way (6’4 26 y/o power righty RP) *checks 2 boxes in one trade Royals get Arias-Witherspoon-Eyanson(These 3 are automatic for Witt) now throw in 5 of the below: -Ziehl/Phillips -Meyer/Sogard/Romero/Godbout/Dorian Soto/Cespedes (2 of this group) -Justin Gonzales/Azocar -Nelly/Rivas/Castro and I could honestly see the Royals wanting Bello on top, cheap controllable starter will have him 5+ years in their budget. Allows them to trade a Bubic and Ragans/Cameron in offseason to help the rebuild and capitalize on Wacha trades now as well. They could completely alter the org with a Red Sox trade. Enough of these prospects are close enough to ready to still capitalize on Caglianone’s prime while building for future as well. They potentially get 7 Red Sox top 30. Potentially 3 top 100 if it is Gonzales but I think if Cespedes keeps it up he’s on the top 100 next year. The Red Sox still have plenty of talent that should be on that top 30 and whatever is left over from the above trade they could still go out and get a Luis Arraez to help the RHP hitting problem. Could trade Sandoval and Moran/Weissert for some shot in the dart prospects they like to replace some lost talent too. i say get it done. Thoughts?
