  1. I’m not gonna lie. I know it’s been against bad teams, but it feels like this is a team playing and not a diva or two who crush the ball.
  2. I don’t have any good reason for this guess. But Pokey Reese
  3. Crawford I would get. But I feel like Houck is close enough to bet on himself?
  4. We’ve seen a youthful revolution. I’d potentially be ok with a minor sell off and see if the kids can finish the season. Oneill, Jensen, Martin could nab us a couple solid prospects. O’Neill can be straight replaced with what we already have. Who would step into Martin and Jensen’s spots? Who would we even look into buying? I honestly don’t know who the names could be. The only place I really see for upgrades or replacements worth trading prospects for would be a controllable 1-3 caliber starting pitcher. Maybe a middle infielder rental if and or when Dham and Valdez come back to earth, or a controlled 8/9 reliever. Anybody gonna be available that fits those parameters?
  5. I don’t disagree that there were difference makers available. But it seems pretty clear to me that we have waves of going for it when someone deems it appropriate and I just feel like this is again(disappointingly) a year where it’s deemed not appropriate. I can only think that the hope is we see a few more cheap and controllable homegrown options emerge before the checkbook opens again.
  6. Honestly it seems like we are retooling our roster to have flexibility for the 2025 season. Looking at free agent pitchers there don’t seem to be a lot of ace types available. Interesting name could be Michael Sorowski who had a nice sophomore year before being derailed by injuries. Other than that we’ll be having the same conversation on whether or not to commit big money to aging stars. Seems like we need to either keep swinging on reclamation types of invest young players into a trade.
