  1. One can only guess how many HR's Williams would have hit in Yankem Park if he had played there his whole career.
  2. I'm probably wrong, but I do think it reverts back to the completed 5th inning.
  3. In Yankem Park McGuire's HR would have looked like 400 feet.
  4. No question concerning Pivetta's durablity, but the fact remains he's a #4 or a #5 starter on a good team.
  5. Pivettabout it! The talking horse hits another.
  6. Not only should Robo umps replace the current HP chUMPS; they should also beat the crap out of them for their ineptness.
  7. Obvious catcher's interference and no one challenges. Hello, SOX dugout, wake up in there.
  8. He's off paternity leave.
  9. Nah, I've been using that for the last couple years after he gives up a dinger.
  10. When it comes to Devers, it used to be swing hard because you're likely to hit it. Over the last 6 weeks or so it's been swing hard in case you hit it.
  11. Unfortunately, I'm getting the Yankem feed. The bozos in the booth keep criticizing Fenway for giving up HR's even though their Yankem Park has an embarrassingly short RF fence. Then one of the clowns says, but both of those HR'S weren't Fenway homers. Hard to criticize NESN as long as there are morons like the ones working for YES.
  12. Love seeing Cole giving up the dingers.
  13. Pivettabout it. I believe Nick is near the top in games started this season. Tonight is his 29th start. Just checked; his 29 starts are tied with 5 other guys for most games started.
  14. Is Josh Donaldson the most overpaid everyday player in MLB at 23 mil/year? He's got to be in the top 5.
  15. Very nice D from Bogey.
  16. Pham Dugo Bogey Devers JD Arroyo Casas Kike McGuire Pham has a career BA against Cole of .429, including a HR, relating to a total of 21 AB's.
  17. As far as the disallowing of the shift next season, I have no problem with that because just like lowering the mound and employing DH's it will add offense to the game. However, if I was putting this new rule together, I would allow a team to use the shift a certain arbitrary number of times during the game. Hell, MLB has numbers for mound visits, how many batters a reliever must face, and next season how many times a pitcher can throw to 1st base. Just my 2 cents.
  18. Besides the time clock and limited throws to 1st base, the rule of disallowing the shift will also not benefit the pitcher. Robo umps will probably not benefit the batter or the pitcher.
  19. Btw, I'm still waiting for Dugo to prove that he can't play RF. Not saying he can or can't, just saying I haven't seen any proof.
  20. Since the lowering of the mound after the 1968 season and the advent of the DH rule in the mid '70's, has there been any rules past, present and coming next year that ever benefitted or will benefit the pitcher? I can't think of any.
  21. Twinkies fading fast from PO hunt. The only ones sadder about that than the Twinkie fans are the Yankems.
  22. Strahm definitely pumped.
