  1. My favorite Yogiism is the following: A teammate of Yogi's mentioned that he was going out for dinner at a famous NY eatery. Yogi told him that no one goes there because it's always too crowded.
  2. Kind of a SSS to critique his 'mental discipline.'
  3. Might as well keep Abreu in the line-up going forward. He has nothing left to prove at Triple-A. He can't be any worse than Dugo or Masa have been of late.
  4. I thought Graveman was digging himself a hole, but he got out of it.
  5. Astros tried to help the SOX, but the SOX said "no thanks."
  6. I didn't see this post, but I echoed it.
  7. I agree, but with this defense, most SOX pitchers deserve better.
  8. I seriously doubt Dugo will be back next season. I had high hopes for the guy entering this season, but whatever he does in the future will most likely be with another team.
  9. Yup. It appears that playing defense requires more brain cells than hitting.
  10. I'd be more interested knowing who the fielding coach is.
  11. Mental error by the SOX, but that won't show up in the boxscore.
  12. "Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless"--N. Young
  13. What do you do with Casas? I don't see the SOX trading him. And Turner is going to DH next season, unless he's traded, which I seriously doubt.
  14. Btw, it wasn't F'ing Dent that beat the SOX in that '78 tie breaker, it was Lou 'F'ing' Pinella.
  15. I think you're right. Unfortunately, for the remainder of this year and next year there really isn't anywhere else to put him.
  16. Well, the SOX had the guy they wanted at the plate, but it didn't work out. One has to wonder how many sleepless nights that caused YAZ to have?
  17. Devers reminds me a little bit of Greg Nettles. Nettles was a good hitter, but a really bad defensive 3rd baseman. He worked on his defense and became one of the top defensive 3rd baseman of his time. Whether that happens to Devers, at this point, doesn't seem likely, but ya never know.
  18. I remember in '78 when Billy Martin removed Reggie Jackson from RF for not hustling after a fly ball and how Reggie and Billy almost came to blows in the dugout. But it was a different game back then.
  19. Why don't the coaches ever visit the infielders?
  20. Houston hitting balls at Devers, which I consider grossly unfair.
