  1. d, I can't defend the SOX impotence tonight, just like I couldn't yesterday.
  2. There was someone today starting for the Tigers who had a very good ERA and had an 0-3 record. In his 5 starts for the Tigers his team provided him with 3 total runs.
  3. Houck is a perfect example of why the W/L record for a pitcher is virtually a worthless stat.
  4. Just remember before getting too upset, the goal this season is to not finish in last place.
  5. Just like yesterday the SOX batters are having trouble with the fast ball. I thought it was curve balls and sliders that were tough to hit. Who knew?
  6. Tough to pitch when giving up one run may be a bridge too far to overcome.
  7. At this point in the season the pitching has been better than the hitting. As a long time SOX fan I don't believe that's ever happened during my tenure.
  8. Good to see that Angel Hernandez is still employed. Living proof that no matter how inept a chUMPIRE is the chUMPIRES' union will never fire them.
  9. Q: What are the symptoms? A: 9 HR's and 12 RBI
  10. Wasn't that special? O'Neill may be suffering from 'men on base' phobia.
  11. OTOH, Hamilton should only be in the line-up in the unlikely event of a SOX player getting injured.
  12. Don't ruin the anticipation by having Grissom play.
  13. One thing one can't take away from Bobby D is his ability to catch high or wide throws to 1st base.
  14. The Giants' catcher must be completely surprised when the thrower on the mound actually hits the target. This Harrison guy perfectly exemplifies the difference between pitching and throwing.
  15. This chUMP is definitely not a pitcher's chUMP, but, at least, he's consistent.
  16. Zach is Short on offense, but I wonder if he's a good bunter?
  17. I'm still a firm believer that the #24 should have been retired when Dewey retired. Unbelievable.
  18. The Giants' thrower on the mound is at 93-94mph; SOX are swinging and missing as if his pitches were at 98-99mph.
  19. Cooper, Smith and now Short were all acquired for cash considerations, which is obviously a lot less risky than trading prospects.
