  1. In the likelihood that Soto does sign with the Mets, at least it gets him out of the AL East. Also, the Yankems losing Soto would also be great.
  2. Vlad is one year older than Casas. I seriously doubt that Casas will outhit Vlad over the next 5 years. On a more realistic path I certainly hope the SOX can pick up either Fried, Burnes or Crochett.
  3. Both are approximately the same age so a long term contract for Vlad, Jr would be just as reasonable as the same length contract for Soto. Personally, I just prefer Vlad over Soto. Like I posted above, the odds are the SOX acquire neither.
  4. I believe Soto ends up with the Mets. However, there is a plan B. How about the SOX trade Casas, Abreu and either Mayer or Campbell to the Jays for Vlad, Jr? IMHO, Vlad is a better hitter than Soto and better defensively. He's also the answer to the SOX RH batter shortage. The money saved gives the SOX a better chance of signing either Fried or Burnes. I doubt the Jays' trade happens, but at least it's an alternate plan.
  5. A-hole Jansen physically left the team before this home stand. It appears many of the SOX mentally joined him. Btw, it's difficult to hit a baseball if one's been practicing his golf swing over the last couple of weeks.
  6. If this final home stand was supposed to leave a good taste in our mouths, well, then this can also be added to the season's failure list.
  7. Btw, Can't Hardly Wait was a mediocre film from '98, but a terrific song by The Replacements in '87. This song includes the wonderful lyric "Jesus rides beside me; He never buys any smokes."
  8. Will the SOX finish at .500 and will the SOX finish 3rd in the AL East? Both these very important questions will be answered tomorrow. I'm sure you can't hardly wait.
  9. Speaking of which, MOON, do you have Duran's 1st inning batting stats?
  10. And if you removed Duran's futility in the 1st innings of games, he'd be batting over .300.
  11. The one thing I thought this team could accomplish was keeping fans away from Fenway, but they even failed at that.
  12. What Grissom did there on that grounder pretty much exemplifies the SOX entire season.
  13. With men on base O'Neill very seldom hits into DP's.
  14. 34 homers given up. So who led the SOX in HR's this season? Homer Crawford. I don't believe Homer Simpson ever gave up a HR or hit a HR. So his first name is very misleading.
  15. Gasper should be the designated 'ghost' runner.
  16. The SOX are the 3rd most valuable franchise in MLB. Time for ownership to act like it.
  17. Notice how the SOX were able to turn Casas' homer into a solo shot.
  18. Crawford escapes despite the 'help' of his infield. In fact, the Rays were more helpful.
  19. SOX still have a shot at 4th place, which should make Fred a happy camper.
  20. I'm for the SOX FO giving Pivetta a QO. His current salary is 7.5mil/yr. His pitching stats this year are above average and he has a rubber arm. I'd offer him 38 mil for 3 years.
  21. Obviously, the SOX won't finish 78-84, but before this game the SOX did have a slim chance of finishing 84-78.
  22. Duran's arbitration should be very interesting this offseason. Hoping the SOX give him a well-earned extension.
  23. As if Bobby Witt, Jr. isn't one of the best at so many offensive stats, he's also the fastest runner in MLB according to Stat Cast.
  24. Just informed by the Jays' booth that Duran has had 723 PA's so far this season.
