  1. I do believe that should end that discussion. That was a stab to the heart, Dewey. Nicely done.
  2. If I'm not mistaken, a team has to make it to the WS before it has a chance to win it.
  3. I was hoping to see at least one worse than JBJ .202BA .628OPS To be fair, by the end of the season these stats could be higher. Or not.
  4. The only thing I can post that's not speculation is that for the Yankems and SOX to be tied at the end of the season, one of the teams going into the final 3 game series will either have a 1 game lead or a 3 game lead. Based on that reality there's no way either team will be holding back their best pitcher to pitch in a tie breaker unless, by coincidence, it's his turn in the rotation. But to answer the brain-twister on the original post, I would start Sale in a tie breaker.
  5. Start Price and win? You're asking a lot, Spud.
  6. During the SOX's 3 WS's titles, perhaps the most important player to have made that happen was Ortiz. From what I've read and heard, Pedro was the most important factor in convincing the SOX FO to go after David.
  7. Hey, we're the SOX. Other teams should respect that and just give us their best players for next to nothing.
  8. There are those who still believe Theo walks on water.
  9. When I think of overpaid, I dwell on players like Crawford, Price, Pablo, and Hanley. A pitcher who's given the SOX the success Kimbrel has, I do not consider overpaid.
  10. The SOX could beat a NL team with all their regulars out. If the SOX loved Price, they'd let him pitch against the senior(inferior) circuit and he'd win even with the slop he had against the Yankems.
  11. Makes one want to throw another F you to C.Smith for his self-inflicted injury.
  12. The only pen one has a lot of time to think about things is the State Pen.
  13. No team in MLB made a better acquisition this year than the SOX getting JD.
  14. There's no doubt the SOX need another BP arm and MAYBE Thornburg is the answer, but the Yankems BP, except for Benances and Chapman are no great shakes either.
  15. The best thing about batting JD 3rd instead of clean-up is he gets more AB's, and that is a real thing.
  16. The SOX just added more misery to a city that has enough misery.
  17. SoxHop, I didn't know you cared.
  18. I've heard of early get away games, but that's ridiculous.
  19. Bad news for all my fans out there. I won't be able to participate in tomorrow morning's game thread because of a prior commitment. I know it's heartbreaking, but I'll be back for the following game. However, I will be tivoing the win tomorrow.
  20. Which is still better than Texas.
  21. I hope a certain person whose name I won't mention doesn't make a big thing about it.
