    I will say that defensively Nunez is much better at 3rd than 2nd. He seems more comfortable there.

    I've watched every SOX game this year and if someone told me Nunez was batting .257 going into this game, I would have called him a liar.

    His name was Juan Gonzalez and he was an RBI machine in the '90's. That particular year 1998 he finished with 157 RBI.

    I'm thinking one would have to go back to Ted Williams to match the numbers JD has at this point in the season for the SOX. I do remember a player on the Rangers a while back who had 100 RBI at the All-Star break. I forgot his name. He did slow down quite a bit after the ASB.

    It's amazing how Sale made that one adjustment on the mound a few weeks ago and added about 3 to 5 mph on his fastball.

    I agree. He's my kind of opposing pitcher. I'm sure when I get to like him too much, they'll take him out. They do that a lot.

    Sonny Delight is getting shelled again. Jays lead Yankems 5-0 in 2nd.

    I remember back in the '90's when your team won 116 games, but didn't even get to the WS. I still think it's safe to say they were the best team in baseball that year. I also remember in 2006 when the Cards were 83-79 and they won the whole thing. It is a crazy game.

    Btw, I have a drinking buddy at the local tavern here in Syracuse, NY who is an M's fan. The only M's fan I know here locally. He moved here from Seattle about 15 years ago. Don't know if this has anything to do with him being an M's fan, but he is the most knowledgeable baseball person I've ever met. One cannot stump this guy with baseball trivia. I and some other friends have tried and we have failed miserably.

    Harmony, you're a good M's fan. I respect that. But, I believe the A's are for real. They're starting to realize they are in the race.

    Oops, sorry, but that was not a stab to the heart, but a serious blow. After thinking about it, it would be possible for a 3rd place club to make the playoffs.
