  1. THIS is our #8 prospect?? Holy crap is our system barren now. I mean if we win a WS or 2 in the next 3 years it would be well worth it, but if not, UGH!!
  2. Missed it. Sorry. Old eyes. And they sucked to begin with. Had eye trouble since I was a very young 'un.
  3. Trey Ball said he wanted to reach the Hall of Fame. Does anyone know if he visited yet? Only way he is going to accomplish that goal.
  4. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/230151-control-vs-command-whats-the-difference And I re-reversed my original description. I was correct the first time.
  5. Yes . As far as actual definitions, they basically are the same thing. The literal definition of command is " the ability to control." But as far as pitching & sports go, they are not the same. Maybe nitpicky yes, but they are different. But in the above post,I had it backwards. So i fissed it. (My 3 year old grandson, (i have 9 grandchildren), brings me his broken toys all the time and says "fissit") 2 dart players. Both can hit the outer bull at will. They both have command of the darts. One can hit the inner bull MUCH more often. He has better control of the darts. THATS the difference.
  6. Control is the ability to throw the ball in the strike zone when you want to. Command is the ability to throw the ball in the strike zone where you want to.

  8. I thought this thread was about whether you preferred a standard or automatic transmission to drive with. Some athletes can handle it when there is pressure on. Some can't. You can call it "clutch" or "choking". I don't call it either one. I simply say some can handle pressure, some can't. But both types of athletes absolutely exist.
  9. Clutch absolutely exists. Try driving a standard transmission without one. It CAN be done, but it must be done when then rpm of the engine, speed of the vehicle, and the gear you are going to/from is just right. And you will cause un-necessary premature wear on the synchros in the tranny. Better to just use the clutch. (My profuse apologies if someone else mentions this. I don't care to read 45 pages to find out.)
  10. Because Joe Kelly has not figured out how to pitch yet. He has the stuff but no idea how to use it. Yesterdays debacle, while the entire bullpen stunk it up, was a great example.
  11. Thanks all. I MUCH prefer friendly banter, but can handle myself in unfriendly banter also.
  12. Hey all. Old Sox fan here. Lifelong Sox, Patriots fan. Big Hockey fan also. But don't like the Bruins. 2 out of three ain't bad. Looking forward to getting to know you all and "talking baseball and the sox".
