  1. Pomeranz is averaging 6 IP per start. This is a significant upgrade to the #4 & 5 starters. In limited action he's done well in AL East ball parks His 2016 splits are better away from SD http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/splits/_/id/31010/drew-pomeranz They have him for 3 years
  2. Keith Law hates the deal. Sounds good to me,
  3. He's in A ball.
  4. Since he's a first baseman that's not horribly surprising. I think we've seen who Shaw is. He's okay. Overall he'sadequate at 3B, decent at IB he'll be ~ an .800 OPS hitter who will get about 20 HR, drive in ~80 and bat around .270. If he's not dealt next year he and Hanley will split duties at 1B and DH with a little 3B mixed in for Shaw
  5. Luis Tiant when he was an active player taking 'IF practice" doing the ole in the '70's. He came over to the 3B boxes to smooze & sign autographs. My buddy and I complimented him on his defense. He winked and signed the balls we bought at Fenway (and foolishly played with). More recently at his restaurant, repeated the story about IF practice, he said "That's why I love Boston". Doug Mirabelli who was helping to sell Sox wives cookbooks for charity, if you bought a cookbook he signed. I have that one. Nice guy and he wife was very pleasant too.
  6. The wing to put him under would be Pedro. Pedro made great use of his edge. This kid needs to harness in the right direction.
  7. JBJ has had two spectacular offensive months in the majors, a few pedestrian months and some real clunkers. Ride the wave when he's hot.
