  1. A tough night at the plate, but don't lose sight of the fact that he made two outstanding catches in CF that kept the game as close as it was.
  2. Ya like that crooked hat, huh? I don't.
  3. Put the f***ing hat on straight!!! Douche!
  4. Bradley made two outstanding plays in CF to keep this game as close as it is. Now he needs to come through here offensively too
  5. Now walk it off, Nunez
  6. I know. Sandy had a good string with his bat and now we're sitting around waiting for it to happen again. Ugh. As it was supposed to work out Vaz was going to be our defensive specialist and Swi our catcher who can hit. I don't see Swi being as good defensively as Leon but he'd be better with the stick. But for some reason Cora (the FO) don't want him behind the plate. I'm just figuring that they know more than we do about that.
  7. That post was 10 years old! It's none of my business but I think you need a job with more to do! LOL
  8. IMO Swi's problem is that they want him for his bat but he's at best the 3rd best fielder on the team at any position. So where would you put him?
  9. That's true, but it would be that way on a lot of teams.
  10. You may have hit on it right there. He may figure into the Sox plans for the future but since he's out of options they can't send him down. Plus he's not currently better at any position than the players on the field. I do think they should put him someplace sometimes though. JDM may not be the 4th best OF'er on the team but they find a time to put him there.
  11. But if he gives you two innings today is he coming back tomorrow? My personal preference would be to use him (Miller for example) in the 8th if need be to put out a fire, then let someone else close out the 9th. Then he'd be available the next day to pitch the 9th if needed. As an aside, is it my imagination or did Kelly's season get a kick-start when he plunked Austin? It seems like he's been almost untouchable since then.
  12. IMHO Miller High Life is the best of the commercially produced domestic middle of the road beers, and Rolling Rock is the best of the cheap beers. That's not to say that either of them actually qualify as being "good beer". :-)
  13. I agree completely. Stats are just another tool, along with experience and the eye test. Unfortunately there are posters here who insist that statistics tell the entire story of a player's abilities and I refuse to be shouted down by these people. If you want to point your anger at people point it at those who want to quash those of us who have a differing viewpoint.
  14. And you clearly don't have a grasp of common sense. I'll say it again: Any statistic that says that JDM has more range in LF than JBJ has in CF has a right to be called into question.
  15. A win! This game is a good example of what this team has this year that they didn't have last year. Yesterday Mookie won it almost single-handedly with two HR's and JDM won it tonight with a 3 run homer. They need those big bats.
  16. Nobody ever accused me of having a cannon but I blew mine out doing something stupid too. At 52 years old I was challenged to see how fast I could throw a ball with a radar gun there and things were never the same afterward. Grrr.
  17. Beni if you get picked off again tonight you little f***er Im coming right through my tv screen to GET YOU!!
  18. f***ing Pillar. Doesn't he know that JBJ is supposed to be the best CF in the ALE? :-)
  19. IMO part of the problem is that they're seeing different pitches now. When they were on the west coast they saw a lot of fast balls early and feasted on them. Now they're seeing breaking balls. Someone (Emp?) made the observation a couple of days ago that it looks like when they left California word got out not to throw the Sox fast balls early in the count.
  20. I was there 5-6 years ago for a 3-game series and it was great. The stadium is one of the best, the fans were friendly, and the entire inner harbor was welcoming to us Sox fans. Apparently it's changed now.
  21. I've been hearing that the low attendance there is due in part to the violence in the city during the past year. People are afraid to go there.
  22. Who's that guy on the mound, and how did he get Chris Sale's uniform?
  23. Witness the difference between "aggressive" and "boneheaded" there.
