    Speaking of Buck (and getting away from the game for a moment) has anyone else seen Buck's series "Undeniable" on AUD Network? I find it to be pretty good stuff. For all his faults Buck is a good interviewer IMO.

    I don't understand this. Some of our posters are getting the Sox on Fox (Dr Seuss? LOL) so why are we getting the LPGA? Is the game blocked out only in some markets?

    Actually it's not where I am. I'm being subjected to women's golf until the golf is over. Then they'll be switching to the baseball game. Ughhhhhhhh!

    There's not much to debate about. Devers is struggling. What were we expected to say? That he's not struggling? Or were we supposed to agree with him - which is not a debate at all.

    Sorry, but I don't fit the millenial profile being retired for several years now. Thanks for admitting that you were trolling. I was undecided whether you were trolling or just so socially inept that you thought that your posts were appropriate from a Yankees fan. You answered that. I've been involved with sports at the high school level all my life and there's something I've learned that is as true at that level as it is at the professional level and it's this. We can criticize our own players (in our own time) but when a fan of a rival team does it it's not well received. But don't you have better things to do in your life than to spend an entire Saturday trolling a Red Sox message board? If you don't it says a lot about your life.... but I'll let you decide what it says.

    WE are insecure? You go to a Red Sox board and continually post about how good the Yankees are now and how they're only going to get better and WE are the ones who are insecure? ROFL!! I think what you're doing used to be called "Whistling past the graveyard". LOL

    Here's the hard truth. The Sox cannot go into a series against one of the very best teams in baseball without their best player and expect to win - or maybe even tie - the series. There's too much parity among the top teams to have that happen. It's not the end of the world though. The Sox will still be a top-flight team when Mookie comes back and there are still 2/3 of the games to be played. In the meantime they are still competitive (or better) with most teams in the AL.

    It's too bad, too, because Jax has a lot of good insights. However, the "gloat trolling" hurts his overall credibility. This will probably raise the hair on MVP's neck, but anyway.... Knowing you're an old BDC poster you must remember Jete02. He was an anomaly. A Yankees fan with class. His comments were about baseball and never intended to inflate the Yankees or degrade the Sox. Just good baseball talk.

    Agree. The problem was his name. If he changed his name to Joe Schmoe the Sox (or at least the fans) would have welcomed him.

    True enough. I'd just feel better if I didn't think they were lying to us. If they want to tell us nothing, that's fine. It's better than what it looks like they're doing. I just have this funny thing about honesty, I guess.

    The thing is, that's what he always was. He made a career out of getting into - and out of - trouble. The trouble is that this year he's not getting out. That's why he has a career ERA of just under 4.00 and this year he's just under 7.00. When he gets out of his own trouble he's a serviceable #3-4 but when he can't he's a candidate for being DFA'd. I do still think it's early to be giving up on him. He did after all miss ST.

    You simply cannot have your best player on the bench against a very good team and expect to win. When is Mookie coming back? WoTF knows? Day 1 5/27 (ATL)- he's experiencing a little soreness in his side so we're giving him a day off. Day 2 5/28 (TOR)- he's still a little tender. It's no big deal. Day 3 5/29 (TOR) - We're going to give him one more day off. Better safe than sorry. Day 4 5/30 (TOR) - We're going to give him one more day of rest. If we were playing Houston today he'd be in there. Day 5 5/31 (HOU) - He should be fine tomorrow. Day 6. Today - Who knows? What's that crack medical team going to tell us next? That he slept with the baby wrong? ...and people wonder why some of us don't think DD was being completely forthcoming with his statement about why Hanely was DFA'd?

    The comment that got snipped at the end of my OP should have given away the fact that it was meant in sarcasm and directed at those people who want to move him down in the order.

    That's one of the problems this team has. It doesn't have a legitimate leadoff hitter, someone with speed and a high OBP but not much power. Both Betts & Swi have too much power to be a good leadoff hitter. Oh, what to do, what to do?
