Not at all. Just don't get your panties in a bundle when some of us come to pretty logical conclusions based on his first year, his unbelievable return to ST, and his continued attitude seemingly detached & indifferent attitude about losing his job to a rookie. Surely you'd admit that it's a bit beyond bizarre? If he were here, i'd be nice to him, but i'd ask a few questions.....
Like... don't you think it's clear by now that your weight has been a factor in your performance here in Boston? Don't you see that your weight is clearly limiting your movement and leading to ever increasing injuries? Don't you think for 19M you owe the Sox following through on getting in much better shape when you were clearly asked to do so? Don't you think you owe the Boston fans a bit more effort? Were you unaware of how unhappy Sox fans were last year? Do you know that many thought you sure looked high on many occasions, hanging all over certain other players on the bench, seemingly oblivious to the collapse of a team around you? Did you not understand that the FO gave you early walking papers, supposedly to get an early start on "rehabm" & to get in shape? Tell us about how you & your old trainer would hide your weight in the run up to contract negotiations? Do you believe you can cling to the story of no weight issues, given your history of hiding massive weight gains that would "undermine negotiations with the SF FO," as your old trainer put it? Do you see how Boston fans who have gotten less than nothing from you for 19M / yr. guaranteed salary? Can you see how most Boston fans who have struggled through 2 brutal 14 & 15 seasons might take it personally that you are one of the 2 highest paid position players on this team, but you've done nothing to earn it? That to many, it's tantamount to pissing on the uniform these fans live, eat, sleep, breathe, bleed for year after year, for 50, 60, 70, years? Can you understand why, after hearing from JF in January that you had lost 20+ pounds & were in great shape, that RSN would feel more than betrayed & lied to? What do you say to fans who question your heart, self-discipline, work ethic, teamsmanship, honesty, & chsracter, after hearing how you have had a long history of hiding a controllable weight problem? That we do see you doing nothing to seek help, and infer that you are a selfish & indulgent person for putting so little out for this team, all while happily taking the money & continuing to stuff your face?
Just a few questions I might ask him in a pleasant sit down interview. Perhaps at Chatchki's?
