  1. It's an easily understood number and is better than OBP or SLG alone. wRC+ and OBA are better, but those metrics are not well known. I'd like to see this become more popular: OBP x 3 + SLG x 2/ 5
  2. Yes, and with Nunez & Holt and now Marco looking good, Chavis will likely stay at 1B at least until Moreland or Pearce return.
  3. My point was, expecting more 2B depth, especially with our budget stretched out and higher needs elsewhere was unrealistic. I think our 2B position was perhaps our deepest of all. (You forgot Marco.)
  4. Some recent Sox K/BB ratios: Sale: 78:9 in last 47.1 IP (Take away his one 5 BB game and it's 68:4) Price: 27:4 in last 24 IP Porcello: 9:1 in last 10.2 IP ERod: 27:4 in last 22.2 IP (12:1 in last 11.2)
  5. 14 Ks 2 BBs We've been killing the K/BB ratio lately.
  6. Not specifically, no, but it is included. It's not like it's an all important number in an of itself.
  7. Forget the Killer B's, the Killer W's have been great! Walden, Workman & Whembree
  8. Right, so we look even better, especially if you believe Miley's numbers are not sustainable.
  9. I agree. BTW, JBJ has a +0.5 fWAR since April 20th. Surprisingly, he's at +0.1 since April 6th.
  10. I think he's been plus since April 20th.
  11. Great players can slump without a major reason (like an injury). Let's give him time. He may be back over .900, soon.
  12. Yes, and if any prospects are traded, it should be for a solid pen arm or better SP'er depth... not an OF'er.
  13. True, but not many were hitting over 1.000 over their most recent 18+ games or .800 over their last 35 games when they got benched.
  14. 2018-2019 Starting Pitchers (153 with 100+ IP) ERA- 4. Sale 59 18. Price 75 61. ERod 91 67. Eovaldi 95 76. Porcello 98 If you go by every 30 starters as the cut of for ranking 1-2-3-4-5 starters, we have... 2 number 1's (Sale & Price) The best #3 (ERod at #61) 2 other solid #3's (Porcello & Eovaldi) The Astros have: 5. Verlander 12. Miley 17. Cole 70. McCullers The Yanks have: 23. Severino 39. Sabathia 50. Paxton 54. Happ 121. German
  15. If you look at the state of MLB starters, Porcello and ERod are both better than most 3rd starters in MLB, so I guess it's all about perspective.
  16. He will...in the playoffs.
  17. We need to close this out and gain a half game on the Yanks.
  18. Bogey needs to bust it open!
  19. Who was that dumb-ass poster who, years ago, was drooling all over Marco?
  20. Marco Freakin' Hernandez!
  21. The Rays are more afraid of JBJ than most Sox fans.
  22.
