  1. I think you are on to sometqhing: Brasiers new nickname should be Brasarus.
  2. It will be a big test when we play better teams, and we should be 5-3 vs who we just played, but every year there are examples where we do well vs some good teams and poorly vs some bad teams: 2022 4-2 v HOU, 2-1 v STL, 6-1 v SEA, 5-2 v CLE 1-2 v Cubs, 3-4 v KCR 2021 3-1 v ATL, 10-9 v NYY & TOR 3-4 v TEX & 3-3 v OAK I know our offense won't be this good, all year, but it looks solid, to me, even without Story. Our D might improve, if we can get Kike to CF and Story & or Mondesi back to the middle IF. Our pitching is the wild card in so many ways. We have a lot of pitchers who could be very good or even great, but they could also not do very well or get hurt, again.
  3. 4-4 after 8 games. Now what I had hoped for, but there is plenty of season left to play. The O looks fine, so far. The D looks real bad. The pitching seems to be improving.
  4. Singing to the choir. I mentioned a way we can improve the D by shifting a few guys around, but I don't think Casas should be benched indefinitely to make it happen. I'm also not sure Change hits any better, and he's not great on D, either. I'm not sure we can say Chang is better on D based on 4 errors by Kike out of the gate, but if he is, certainly that is an option, too.
  5. Dermody looked good for Woo: 5 IP 2 H 0 ER 1 BB 2 K Some short sample, yet eye-opening OPS at Woo: 1.581 CHamilton 1.282 Sogard 1.122 Palka 1.102 Duran 1.083 Alfaro 1.000 Dalbec .900 Goodrum .810 Allen At Portland (won today): 1.750 Dearden 1.714 Rosier 1.212 Koss 1.111 Binelas Salem completed the organization sweep, today (Greenville was rained out.) E R-C 3 IP 0 H 0 ER 5 BB 2 K Bleis 1-5 Anthony 2-5 Ravelo 1-3, 2 BB James 3-3, 2B & SF .973 McDonough .900 Yorke
  6. We could sit Casas, who is hitting worse than Kike, right now. 1B Turner DH Yoshida LF Duvall CF Kike
  7. I doubt any major moves will be made over an 8 game sample size. While Kike is not doing well, at all, he has company: 16+ ABs .364 Wong (more ABs than McGuire) .496 Casas .519 Arroyo .579 Kike .586 Refsnyder .645 Turner (despite the .378 OBP) I will say, I did expect better D from Kike, too.
  8. Yes, 2 hits, 2 BB, 2 runs and 2 rbi in 12 PAs. Not bad.
  9. I was hoping to say, "Everybody Wong Chang, tonight!"
  10. We need an HR to keep the run efficiency high,
  11. I like the new physique.
  12. Dugo off to a nice start.
  13. Duvall Forevers!
  14. Turner was one of MLB's hottest second half hitters, last year and has a career .857 second half OPS. He's off to a .400 OBP start. I'd hold on, unless there is a fire sale.
  15. I should have put that in sarcasm green.
  16. The three Bloom O guys acquired all have OBP of .400 or better. .516 Duvall .400 Yoshida .400 Turner Someone needs to start a Fire Bloom thread.
  17. As advertised. Now, work on that BA!
  18. I'm really looking forward to Houck being our 2-4 inning pen guy.
  19. What? There is no Guffman?
  20. He may not make it twice through.
  21. Good game to test if the 3rd time through the lineup thing is for real with Houck.
  22. Who is Mendoza? Mondesi? Joely? Bellisimo?
  23. The one guy Bloom did not give a 2nd year or club option. I've finally come around to the majority thinking: Bloom sucks!
  24. Just glad we now have... Devers Forevers!
