good look SB - thanks for the Beni update.
i hope his knee is good to go. fingers crossed. still cant believe he might be back this season. looked horrific when it happened. ankle rolled over and then knee buckled.
HFX, in all fairness you would have to look at every other of the 5,000 player seasons to see who else was "lucky". it's part of the game. you cant get to 38 on "luck" alone.
im wondering who is 1 & 2 on that list.
none of the 5 are pitching like they need a day off or deserve to be skipped. keep it as is and see where we are after another couple times through the rotation....
to me this is the biggest game so far of the current road trip. a W tonight and we have a fun flight back to the east coast and relaxed off day in Toronto before the yuuuuuuge 3 gamer. TWTC has K'd himself to the pine. would LOVE to see Shaw take advantage of this opportunity and RAKE. Young has looked great at the plate. Beni v righties / young v lefties would have been fun to watch. (speaking of - what is the latest on mr beni?). one more night of how next year will be with life after Papi. i dont know how many of you watched the opener in San Diego but the ovation/adulation ortiz received when he came out on deck in the 9th was special.
Sox Win. Max mojo is good for at least 4 in a row.....
anyone can post "change the pitcher" after every base hit from the 6th inning on and end up being right occasionally. or on the flipside everytime the SP is pulled say 'why did he change the pitcher" and then the BP coughs it up and look "right". and then if the move(s) actually work and the Sox win you can simply type "the Sox won in spite of the idiot manager".
yeah man, my bad....you are the maestro of baseball....
the Sox usually spend close to the spending cap/LT limit. this year we went over. i dont expect that to happen again next year as they will certainly want to "reset" the penalty. to think that we have an "unlimited budget" us incorrect. the Red Sox have a budget and most of the time do not exceed that number (exception being this year as pointed out). if we didnt have "those contracts" that $$ would most certainly have been spent (up to the LT limit) but probably not over it. those that say there is no budget are being naive.....
so did JF leave Clay in too long? or yank him too quickly?
did JF stick with Kelly too long? should he have pulled him after the first hit?
should he have stayed with Barnes for more than 1 out?
shouldnt kimbrell have been brought in once clay gave up a groundball base hit in the 7th? why wasn't he warming up during the 6th inning so he could "be ready"????
i was surprised he was handed the FT job so quickly (day 2). i was surprised how awful he looks against the Curve. let the kid sit the bench / work with chill dawg / PR for a week or so and see where we are at. Shaw had a nice little rest and as we have seen can be capable on both sides of the ball. im ok if i never see hill in a game again.....
sign him to a LTC. forget trading. forget DFAing. forget moving on. i look forward to "Clay Day" in 2025 when they add number 11 to the outfield facade.
