Sale's history is to fall off a cliff late in the season (the cliff is real!). hence the "DL" stints this year to limit his innings. verlander wins the Cy....easy.

verlander winning the Cy is a shoebox bet too..... unless sale throws back to back CG's to end the season. and there is zero chance of that happening.

i dont disagree with that take at all. i do think his footwork and throwing are better now though. i can see that improving over the next couple years making his overall D better. IMO.

also - the Sox released him. its not like he quit. why the hell would someone who has career earnings of $160MM play an entire season for league minimum for fill in the blank team when he is already getting $22.75MM to hit the beach in DR? sounds pretty smart to me. but apparently he is an *******/loser??

every $1 that goes to "tax" implications is a $1 that is not going into "owners" bank account. when has it ever mattered to the 1% that they don't "lose" money? these guys need to acquire every last cent on the planet earth. otherwise every MLB owner would have $500MM payroll. aint happening. it goes against every fiber of their being.......

lol. i wouldnt be opposed to the pinstripes having to fly across the country for a play in game. but honestly i havent spent a second rooting for the A's this season (outside of the handful of games they played the yankees). if we meet in the ALDS i like our chances. that said...it would be awful to watch the MFY jumping up and down on our infield in October.

agreed. there is a limit. owners of professional sports teams do not become owners of professional teams by giving $$ away. these guys have obscenely bloated bank accounts for a reason. they are smart businessmen for a reason....
