  1. I don't know, but sure looks like a lot of risky baserunning out there tonight. Bogaerts could have been nailed at 3b and Devers at home. Hopefully, some day our guys we learn to play it careful.
  2. JBJ has an uncanny sense of where the ball is going and where he is. That was a great catch, but also a smart one.
  3. Sabathia has our guys mesmerized, completely mesmerized. Heck, he struck out Devers with ease.
  4. I keep calling it a fast ball, but Sabathia throws what seems to be a very effective sinker, which means all of his pitches break down.
  5. Great hex, you bum. JBJ just broke up the short-lived perfection.
  6. Sabathia perfect so far.
  7. He has excellent control, a variety of pitches, and, heck, even a 91-92 mph fastball.
  8. Sale finally gets a break.
  9. Right now we do not have a great fielding infield. Simple fact.
  10. After 2 innings, Sale has thrown 41 pitches and Sabathia 16.
  11. Young continues to look helpless against lefties and HanRam not much better. Both were hitless last night. So was Betts.
  12. Do the Sox have a book that say bunting against Sabathia pays off? That might be, but our guys are terrible bunters.
  13. OK, the fix is on. I have never seen such one-sided calls as we are seeing tonight. Sale gets no corners. Sabathia gets an outside pitch called a strike--well outside.
  14. Lineup almost exactly last nights but with Leon in for Vazquez batting 8th. Nunez Betts Benintendi Ramirez Young Bogaerts Devers Leon Bradley I know the AL East isn't in the bag, but I also, track the Inidians--we are 3 games ahead of them--and the Astros, who are 4 1/2 ahead of us.
  15. I thought you said on an earlier post that, had JBJ been out, Farrell would again deserve to be fired.
  16. Darn right. JBJ should be fined for scoring the winning run from 1b on a double of the green monster. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Or just maybe great baseball.
  17. Now that was a Yankees-Sox game. Great win guys.
  18. Gotta agree with that. Just 5 lousy outs, but they were huge.
  19. Our first five in the lineup tonight are hitless. This of course Farrell's fault. Clearly the wrong lineup.
  20. One of Reed's outs was a line drive hit straight to HanRam
  21. Sox have now used 6 pitchers in 3.2 innings.
  22. His 100 mph fastball at this point is something opposing hitters feast on or don't you watch the games? They feast on it because it's basically the only pitch he can throw for strikes and often throws it near the middle of the killing zone.
  23. Thanks. I knew someone would speak up and blame this on Farrell because he of course is the one giving up the dingers, hits, HBP's, walks, etc. Never, ever blame the bullpen when they implode because it's not their fault. They were improperly used. Kimbrel should have been pitching the 6th and 7th innings.
  24. Reed? He's the one who was killing us before. Plus we still have the 8th and 9th innings to go. You might as well be saying, where's Kimbrel? I always astonishes me how you guys blame Farrell when the bullpen--not just one guy, but three guys--implodes.
