  1. Vazquez forgot to tag up--even though it was 2 outs, you gotta be safe--and actually scored on that texas leaguer down the left field line.
  2. Now Vazquez is dancing of 2b hoping to get picked off I guess. J
  3. Just saw the replay. He tagged up! I guess we are lucky he didn't turn around and head for home.
  4. I swear it looks as though the Sox have spent this year working on their home run swings and nothing else.
  5. Heaney is not lucky. He's actually had a number of good starts this season and against good teams. That K of Renfroe was a classic example of how he has the Sox mesmerized today. Renfroe let a curve right down the middle go by him, then swung hard and missed the next pitch, a curve below the strike zone. Like watching a great bullfighter work that cape.
  6. Great inning by ERod. Sox hitters are getting payback for all those games they scored a bunch and ERod still lost the game.
  7. What a K! 4 pitches, all outside the strike zone!
  8. mlb.com tv just showed all those bloop singles by the A's. So, yes, lucky. But they do have 7 hits and 2 runs. More importantly, Heaney has our guys numbers. Today the Sox have their best lineup--unless you prefer Santana to Dalvec-- and they are not getting the job done.
  9. Great at bat by JDM. 2d Sox on base in 4 innings. Plus Heaney threw 10 pitches and now has 63, but he is doing a much better job than ERod of working the corners. Yes, Bogie does K, but he is the one guy you don't mind swinging at pitches out of the zone. Time for Devers to do something. Brush back did the job, made that next pitch and easy ground out. Progress, however, Sox now have a glorious single in 4 innings. By the 8th, maybe we can expect a run.
  10. Heaney has shown better command than ERod.
  11. Great at bat by Renfroe!!! He nailed that pitch. Who cares that it was foul? It's the sound that counts. Ground out.
  12. Sox hitters are aggressive and swinging from their shoe tops. Angels are just making contact, plus the computer software told Cora to position his outfielders well back so those bloops can drop in.
  13. Pretty good changeup, below the zone, and he still lined it to left field.
  14. I haven't kept good track, but it seems as though this ump gives the corners to the hitters. Nice play by Bogaerts. And another.
  15. Sox hitless first time thru the order (and 3 innings).
  16. Some truth in that. ERod so far has a higher strike percentage than Heaney. Some of the fault, however, lies with the Sox hitters who are over-eager to swing and swing hard.
  17. Angels are just tying to make contact, which has produced 5 singles. Sox are swinging much harder and have 0 hits. If they can't get a dinger, at least they can get a long fly out, which is almost as good.
  18. Unfair, unfair! That guy just poked the ball into RF.
  19. True. But in defense of ERod, I think he wasn't using spydertac or whatever, but also wasn't mixing his pitches up. Now he seems to have about 5 of them, including a changeup that's like it was in 2019. Plus his command is way better than earlier in the season.
