They pitched when pitchers went 9 (nine) innings. They pitched 300 + innings. They didn't hide behind a DH, and Pedro was clopse but no cigar in a race with Clemens -

Pedro was great. But the greatest pitcher you ever saw? C'mon. You must not have seen too many pitchers. Gibsin, Koufax, Clemens, Ryan, and many others ahead of him -
He is more concerned with 500 HR than winning. Otherwise, he would play 1b, he would go against the shift more oftgen, and he might try running to first base

Where we as fans are being duped is that this is not the super minor league system we are told it is. They traded away all but Barnes of those supposed power arms, have nothing in return and they have no Bryant or Sanos anywhere in the system. Nava and Breslow are taking up roster slots with no contributions, Ogando and Ross? Puleeze. And I have grown tired of the David Otiz pony show.
