  1. Did you guys hear espn whining about Papi's bat toss? Why do they fish for controversy? Do they think people are going to believe that David Ortiz was showing up the opposition. The man caught the ball well, and no doubt it felt good. He knew he could jog instantly, so he relaxed and tossed the bat. Emotion is permissible.
  2. Well, I reckon when your run support is lower than your era, that would explain a lot, lol. But 8 starts, and 8 decisions? At what point does that become remarkable? and by the way, does this look like it will last. Doesn't even have to be THAT good, just 3.5 or so, with more than 6 innings per start would be everything I would ask of him. Anything more is just gravy
  3. woo hoo Iggy, I love it when they do that while talking to a manager
  4. I have not gotten to see much in depth Sox coverage this year (I am in MS), so could someone explain how Lackey has an era less than 3 with a 3-5 record? I had given up on him a couple years ago, but since he is on the team, I have never stopped hoping he would return to the potential he showed with the Angels. Now, I kinda thought he was going that direction, but 3-5? I believe the chart I saw said 2.96, and that is pretty solid. I might expect some no decisions due to bad luck, but he has 8 starts and 8 decisions, 5 of them L.
  5. 7 hits and 1 run, that is hard to do. I hope he turns in to the number 3 we need. these last two starts do bring a smile.
  6. Good points. Like I was saying, I realize I am being shortsighted regarding Middlebrooks, but the drop over the last 6 weeks or so has been bad. Regarding Lee, I do not think we need to commit that much money to pitching. I like the potential of our rotation and our farm and I would rather invest that money in role players and save a little for the next young superstar that we can steel from someone, instead of letting either the yanks or angels get him.
  7. We need another bat in the bottom half of the lineup good enough to get it back to the top of the lineup consistently. It seems Salty has been the only solid guy to be getting that done. Such a fill in should be cheap. Any high dollar player is not going to want to have that role. Last night was a great display of getting that done, but it does not happen often enough. Who? Well it is kinda difficult to identify who the really dependent average batters are, lol. I already know I am being shortsighted with tunnel vision, but I am about ready to put Middlebrooks out as bait and see what kind of offers we get.
  8. Yanks Guardians have been cancelled,, 5 minutes till Celtics, you guys keep me updated
  9. I do not care if you are gay, but I certainly hope your apparent John Lackey support is only a joke.
  10. Well, I get to see 1/3 of the Sox. They are jumping from Braves to nats to Sox.
  11. Yanks and Guardians look like a postponement. I was hoping for the Sox but I get the Braves. Unfortunately, Mississippi is filled with a lot of "life long Braves fans" that started watching baseball around '92. Well, at least I get to see the Celtics in an hour.
  12. I was thinking the same thing Dojji, you brought up a good question to initiate a conversation that I enjoyed reading answers to. Some people prefer hostility,
  13. Red Sox base hit, Red Sox GDP Red Sox base hit, Red Sox GDP Red Sox base hit, Red Sox GDP I only got to see 6 innings last night, but their were two double plays that I can remember. Would have been 3 but not for Ellsbury's speed.
