  1. There's that Talk Sox wit I missed so much!
  2. I find you guys entertaining, what can I say. By the way, brilliant analysis on WAR and FIP
  3. They've tried... multiple times.
  4. Thank you for proving me right.
  5. Oh, this could be fun. Where do I belong?
  6. Of course you disagree bbdoc, you think Austin Romine is the next Russell Martin in his prime. You are dramatically overly optimistic when it comes to the draft and Yankees prospects. The reason there isn't a lot of difference between the field after the 30th pick or so is because they're all pretty mediocre. There is NOT a lot of depth in this draft.
  7. I'm trying to keep it simple for you guys. Would you prefer to discuss whether you feel FIP or xFIP would be more appropriate for judging a knuckleballer?
  8. Feel free to try to prove me wrong. Care to weigh in on why b-WAR is better than f-WAR for judging historical performances, whether you prefer the formulas for SIERA or xFIP and why or which formula for expected BABIP you feel is most accurate?
  9. Wright doesn't look like he's in the best of shape, his stuff looks like it could definitely play at the major league level though.
  10. I'd equate the baseball knowledge of fans here to that of a bar patron. Saying that my level of baseball knowledge goes deeper than that isn't exactly a stretch. Nor is it a stretch to suggest that the level of discourse in Sons of Sam Horn is better than the level of discourse here. This is like the Bleacher Report of Sox forums.
  11. You're probably right about Wilson. As for later in the round talent, the Yankees don't have any picks in the 15-25 range and with the new system less players will be falling to them. This is not the year you want to be picking over the sloppy seconds of the teams with high picks. The talent pool's just too shallow.
  12. $196 at 7 years/$28 million per would be closer to what Cano's looking for and would be able to get on the free agent market. I wouldn't mind if the Yankees paid a 6 WAR player $30 million a year through age 37. If he signs elsewhere though, it would be a complete disaster for them. That's what I'm really rooting for here.
