  1. If Edgar Martinez is not in the HOF as a DH, David Ortiz has no shot, steroids or no steroids. Manny Ramirez put up great numbers in an era when a lot of people put up great numbers. 162 game seasonal averages, can you spot Ortiz and Manny??? (just for fun) Player A--.295--40HR--130RBI--.933OPS Player B--.295--42HR--135RBI--.904OPS Player C--.301--36HR--119RBI--.974OPS Player D--.284--38HR--111RBI--.907OPS Player E--.293--35HR--114RBI--.906OPS Player F--.312--39HR--129RBI--.996OPS Player G--.286--36HR--118RBI--.929OPS Player H--.300--42HR--125RBI--.945OPS Player A-Albert Belle Player B.-Juan Gonzalez Player C.-Frank Thomas Player D.-Ken Griffey Jr. Player E.-Mo Vaughn Player F.-Manny Ramirez Player G.-David Ortiz Player H.-Alex Rodriguez
  2. Redsox are pretty good at it as well. Look at Casey Kelly and Jose Iglesias. My Cubbies did well with Anthony Rizzo thought
  3. You predicted the Pirates to finish above .500. That hasn't happened since 1993.
  4. I am of a thought that this is much worse than they are letting on.
  5. Were they really considered prospects, or just filler?
  6. Regardless, that deal had to be made. It would have been nice if Ruby turned out to be Pedro II, but that was not likely. The fact they got rid of those contracts was a miracle for the Redsox.
  7. You are right, he will most likely play for a ton of people. Those people will be most likely AA baseball fans.
  8. He throws hard. He is not Pedro II. No way LA was giving him up if they truly valued him knowing they were taking on that amount of salary. In LA's mind, they got rid of a bunch of spare parts to take on the amount of salary they were taking on in that trade.
  9. I am first and foremost a Redsox fan, but I moved to CHI when I was very young, so it was hard for me not to become a Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks fan. What is the general consensus of Theo Epstein around here? He isn't making big waves over here in CHI, but he seems to be quietly changing things from the inside out.
  10. Sox have a lot of questions heading in to this season. It appears they have given up on Iglesias as a top of the line prospect, the Sox media group is pumping Bradley and Ruby down our throat while Iglesias seems to be an afterthought.
  11. Agreed. He did all he could to get back. He will at least never question whether or not he could have made it back.
  12. Yeah, who/where are example1, SCM33, YoukoftheNation, Emmz or some of the other people who contributed or created these threads?
  13. A couple of threads like this lately. There are couple of names in this thread, and others that I dont recognize in my short time here.
  14. Well, he doesn't have a choice at this point. He is their third baseman.
  15. Silly bandwagon fans!
