  1. A solid number three? Have you seen his career numbers? You're essentially betting on a breakout. I'd like him as our #5 over Lackey.
  2. They're getting paid to be above average regulars. $13 million doesn't go as far as it once did. Gomez is 27 and still in AAA, and Sands is old for AAA and mashed in the PCL, so take his numbers with a grain of salt. They signed Napoli, because they have no one else to play 1B. If he fails his physical, I hope they sign LaRoche.
  3. I think they're an 85 win team right now. With a little luck, they can make the playoffs.
  4. That proposal sucks, but he is a year from free agency and coming off an injury. His value isn't that high.
  5. Not the Sox, the Cubs.
  6. They have zero motivation to make a trade like that.
  7. Red Sox probably add a pitcher, and call it an offseason.
  8. That means you think Rangers and A's will be playoff teams?
  9. Do you think he'll get his command issues settled?
  10. Nationals win the World Series in 7 against the Blue Jays.
  11. Any rotation with Doubrount and Lackey is in serious trouble.
  12. If the Red Sox add Marcum, I'm comfortable putting them second. Lester, Buchholz, Dempster, and Marcum are a good front four.
  13. Maybe that's harsh, but the Rays options to fill their holes are much better than the Red Sox.
  14. Why would Texas make that deal?
  15. The only difference is that Myers is a star prospect and Kalish, Sands, Brentz, and Gomez are all fringe ones. Other than that, the two situations are completely alike.
  16. His greatest value is now, because he'll net a draft pick for the team that trades for him.
  17. Blue Jays, Rays, Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles.
  18. He's asking for 2/26 right now.
  19. Mets would never make that deal. They can move Victorino to CF and look for a RF. I'm also certain that the Red Sox would extend Dickey.
  20. Mets have no use for Olt. I think he winds up in Toronto for Gose and Arencieba.
  21. Trading Kalish, Salty, and Webster isn't all that insane, especially considering we'd probably control Dickey for three years.
  22. Really insane to compare Steven Wright to the Cy Young winner. Acquiring Dickey makes the Red Sox favorites in the East. I'd make the deal.
  23. I wonder if this hold up banishes Napoli to 1B. If so, do we keep Salty or Lavarnway? I wouldn't be oppposed to trading one of them plus Bradley Jr. for Dickey.
