So we find ourselves in the grips of one of the most key series of the year, and what happens ? Beckett cannot get the job done. Why is he on the mound again ? Why ? Bad decision valentine. I would prefer to see anyone out there but him.....he brings in melancon, are u for real ? Melancon ? The guy does nothing but give up runs and belongs in aaa. Overnand over and over the same mistakes are made. What is going on here, what is it going to take to get rid of this crummy management and bad decisions. Why is valentine giving away games.....what is going on ? To anyone who says this is not on valentine, wake up.

What to the Red Sox get in return for Shoppach ? He was set to earn 1.34 Million for 2012 and he was a free agent at the end of the season. Better to get something for him now than nothing for him later, but...........a player to be named later ? That's it ? Does this go down with the Youkilis for Lillibridge trade, and the Bowden for Byrd trade ? I really hope this is the start to freeing up some money for some other more meaningfull trade ?

As any manager will tell you, one of the toughest parts of the job is deciding when to pull pitchers. Valentine seems to be struggling with this time and time again as pitchers are left in when clearly they do not have their good stuff that evening. Aceves against the Twins giving up a gopher ball is one example, Melancon against the Yankees. Many are calling for Valentines dismissal, but it's very hard to determine if it's just the makeup of this team, or if it's him.

Do the sox really need more infielders ? or is it pitching that this club is in need of ? One possible explanation could be that they want some backup for Middlebrooks in case his hamstring acts up again.
