  1. Cody Ross is a good player, but he was good in Florida and San Francisco and both teams ended up letting him walk. I think there's something that we're not seeing with this guy. He's injury prone. Is he good in the clubhouse? He's a decent defender based on what I've seen, but I would like to see the stats. The Red Sox don't have chips. What they do have is money and they are going to have to eat a LOT of it to get rid of the cancers they have in the clubhouse.
  2. What's next is figuring out how to hit and play left field. His pitching days are DONE.
  3. Why are there people here defending this cop? This city AND team has a notorious past with racism and it would be nice to think that in 2012 we could mend those ignorant ways, but it just keeps getting perpetuated by stupid comments like the one above me. Grow up and pull your head out of your ass.
  4. Dale Sveum? No f***ing way. There is definitely one thing you have to remember: regardless of the size of Boston in square mileage, it's huge on the sports map and you have to have someone here that is charismatic AND a good baseball guy. I do believe that he is both, but he's taking it too far. On the flip of that, who is to say that Larry isn't the puppet master behind that too, encouraging him to do all this ridiculous s*** so that reporters and armchair managers like us talk about the team?
  5. Are you for f***ing real? So plain-clothes, off-duty officers shouldn't uphold the letter of morality and what is right and just? What I am also guessing is that you fully support the union and their defense of a moron who goes around calling people racial epithets. You too are an idiot.
  6. Roll up in a ball and cry, wondering why I took this job in the first place.
  7. Cherrington has been with the Sox since the days of Duquette. If he was worth anything, another team would have taken notice and hired him away to be their GM. Nothing. He's been a monkey boy for 15 years. Now he's got the GM title, but he's really now just the King Monkey Boy - to Larry Lucchino. Maybe he's a good dude and can make good decisions on talent, but he sure looks foolish right now. This ownership group - Larry in particular - has a habit of doing this to people. They will not make any deals at the deadline and it will go away like a whisper. There's no need to do any deals right now unless they can do some major league SUBTRACTION. Get Beckett out of here.
  8. He's walking the company line. Don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. If you could sit him down and get him into real conversation I believe that he would say: 1) it was a HUGE mistake to take this job 2) my hands are tied because Larry and Ben fight too much about where the team should go 3) these players are bigger ass holes than I could have ever imagined sitting up in the ESPN booth 4) my coaching staff isn't my own, f***ing my chances to win right out of the gate 5) Sean McAdam is a dink
  9. He seems like a real good dude. Just don't let the Red Sox get their hands on him because they will try to turn him into a Dirt Bag (Dirt Dogs no more) like the rest of the starting pitchers.
  10. Lester has been tainted by poor leadership. Who is the REAL pitching coach? His friends are Beckett and Lackey. This says more about his character and ability to be a FOLLOWER than be a big game leader. Get rid of all the negative pieces and let's see how this guy does.
  11. Life is difficult when you're a whiny DH. Suck it up Ortiz.
  12. But they lead the league in bronze plaques.
  13. Let these prima donna pricks hate their manager. This can be the one thing in their loves that doesn't go their way. Boo f***ing hoo. They're baseball players and paid to win games. Just do that and everyone (INCLUDING MYSELF) will shut up.
  14. Look, these buffoon beat writers never want to say anything bad about the team or else they will get shut out of getting any dirt, not that they get anything to begin with. It's all fluff. This team gets a D and only because Papi is hitting and the bullpen is saving their asses. Otherwise, a big fat F.
  15. Better yet, what needs to happen, but WON'T happen is getting rid of Larry. Cherrington is his monkey boy GM and is he doing a good job? I don't know because every move seems to be clouded by some bit of Larry masterminding. I feel that if Cherrington were a valuable, talented member of the Red Sox front office, he would have been picked up by another team to be their GM LOOOONGGG before he finally got the job here. He's been here since the 90s. Why is he just NOW getting a chance to do this job? I think it's because he's not a true GM. He's really just Larry's monkey boy.
  16. Two things they need to do and it will cause a public relations nightmare: 1) let Ortiz walk 2) seek a trade for Pedroia and NOT for major league talent - they need farm hands. The other stuff that should have ALWAYS been on their list but seemed to get pushed to the back-burner: 1) build that farm system. they were good at it for a while, but then they decided they had to do some PR damage control with the Texeira debacle. 2) get a training staff together that can keep these guys healthy And things that just need to happen to clean the mess of September 2011: 1) release Dice K 2) trade Beckett 3) trade Lester 4) stop selling those damn bricks What you'll have left is oddly enough not much worse than what you're going into battle with right now, but with far less clubhouse drama. Honestly, though, I think Larry likes all the media attention. There's no such thing as bad press. Red Sox "fans" will keep going to games regardless. Come one, come all pink hat nation!
  17. The problem is that Crawford could POSSIBLY swing a bat and be your DH, but we have resident whiner Big Papi in that slot and he isn't going anywhere.
