  1. Tweet that's circulating: "How much HGH would one need to heal a broken ankle in three weeks instead of six? Asking for a friend." -@iracane
  2. re: All the Hamels not available talk...everyone's available for the right price. I think for a guy still on the right side of 30 like Hamels though, a premium would have to be paid...but he's one of the few guys I'd have no issue parting with a guy like Ranaudo or even a Brentz (last resort) if it sweetened the pot. With CC and Pettitte out, and our injuries healing up, we can gain some serious ground.
  3. Seattle lost today while only giving up 2 hits, both solo bombs. 2-1. Anemic offense. If we can get a couple early we can really set the tone for this series. Felix has typically been strong against the Sox, but in his last 2 starts against Boston, he's thrown 6.50+ FIP ball. Hopefully the beginning of a trend.
  4. Precisely, couldn't agree more. I think FIP and xFIP are extremely valuable when it comes to evaluating pitchers. A pitcher can only do so much once the ball is put in play. ERA is more or less a team-dependant stat. It is generally pretty indicative, but in some cases (such as Lester's), there is a large discrepancy, and it just proves he is the victim of bad luck this year. He's too good not to return to his norm.
  5. What's up gang! Couldn't think of a good username, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with the President of Sox Nation. I'm a 19 year old life-long Sox fan living right in the heart of Blue Jays Country, in Ottawa. My passion for baseball and the Red Sox in particular is out of control, and I figure this is as good a place as any to harness it. My current favourite player is Dustin Pedroia (Big Papi obviously goes without saying), and my favourite former player is Nomar Garciaparra (and I guess now Youk ). I'm a big stathead, sabermetrics, advanced stats, all that jazz. Studying Journalism in University, with the hopes of becoming a baseball writer. Looking forward to talking Sox with y'all through the upcoming inevitable summer surge!
