  1. behind, if the runner's intent is to trip over the 3rd baseman, every red sox fan here could cry without shame. the umps would have waved off the obstruction call if they thought the runner intentionally tripped over the 3rd baseman.
  2. i hope no one drowned last night from the relentless crying.
  3. Everybody knows that dempster has a drinking problem.
  4. when does it ever matter?
  5. now there is the truth.
  6. how do you like him now?
  7. The uniform is part of what we call Yankees Pride. i am surprised that any Yankees fan would equate Gump with the Yankees or one of their fans. Actually, 228, never met one til now. Howdy.
  8. 228, Yankees have won 23 games. Mo has saved 15 out of 15. i think criticism is unwarranted with regard to Mo.
  9. i think gardner, wells, and ichiro are more than adequate in the outfield. Granderson will make it the best by far in the division. The piching does not need to be defended at all. many injuries plague the infield. But when you put that uniform on, you play better......it won't be that way for the whole season. I hope somone in the minors makes a breakthrough to move up.
  10. It's the uniform. It motivates when you wear it and look in the mirror. What do sox players see when they look at those red shirts? Softball, chicken and beer.
  11. what you probaly are unaware of is that Greinke is also a claustrophobiac. so fenway is out.
  12. after the trade, 9-28. it will be interesting to compare the first 37 games next season against that.
  13. bobby must really interview well.
  14. if you were the manager of these players, people would be calling you a jerk too.
  15. it may not have mattered this year, maybe, but that does not change the motivation for going to 2 WC teams; that being to keep more fans interested. more teams than this year could have been in the hunt during the last week. that is what MLB was hoping. they will get it, more often than not. you dont like it for other reasons. me either. it will be possible in the future for 2 WC teams with better records than 2 division winners to play one game to advance. seems bent
  16. it's about money. you know that, jung
  17. well that’s that. 5 years ago we were on top of the world. dominating. 5 years later we haven’t made the playoffs for 3 years, the yankees have won a world series and they are the team to beat again, and things don’t look good going forward. hardly had time to enjoy our championships and to fall to this. it’s a shock
  18. baltimore traded bedard for draft choices. oakland traded gio for draft choices. these teams and others have been doing this for awhile. now it is working out; for once. washington has been active trading and buying, which sets them apart from the other two, but the nationals are proof that given every opportunity to draft there way to respectability, they had to do free agency and trade to put them over. they stole gio for nothing much, yet the A's still have pitching. well, no one will mistake these teams for the sox or yankees when it comes to building a winner. fans here are not going to be patient with their money, if the team tries to build predominently from the farm, as these other teams we have discussed have been doing.
  19. do we have the patience to wait 3-4 years for the draft choices to hopefully be ready? look how llong those teams you mentioned have been diddling around with draft choices since they won the world series? forever it seems. that money trade might usher in something unacceptable for the fans. if the team in ny is really going to keep it at 189 million, maybe the sox are thinking different too. not like the mets i hope.
  20. wait until next year when the team disappoints us in the off season, maybe cutting ortiz loose and playing it cheap in the FA hunt. draft choices aint gonna cut it.
  21. don't hold your breath buddy. we are, for the first time in decades, without any hint of what the team will look like next year. the typical lineup for september has been a triple A joke. apparently, no one in the media is pressuring the team to fess up with regard to their plans for 2013, becuase the team has been silent. i don't like it
  22. What, no Rooster Burleson? that's a shame. I would have taken Rico over Nomar easily and dumped Nomar off the list. It occurs to me that if Jeter had played 15 years for us, no question he would be the favorite of all time; and yet many here mock him. Guess that's what it takes to be a "real" fan.
  23. things can only get better. i expect Liverpool to spend some new found money on a player or two; that is if Henry and the boys have stopped celebrating the trade.
