  1. Not sure I'm digging the lineup. I need someone to explain it to me. Either way Chen is out of his beginners luck and the hitters know his medicore minus stuff. I say 7-2 Bosox.
  2. Nava works counts, very good plate discipline. That won't change anytime soon. His defense improved even though his arm is weak. I vote for him over Pods, even though the team desperately needs speed, and Pods could PR in clutch situations. Who would believe this team will have too many outfielders after all those injuries.
  3. Not quoting the whole message to not kill the page. I don't think the bullpen is complete. It's doing good but it won't be this good in the long run, Aceves isn't a closer and I don't see him as consistent enough to set up in a championship contending team. I would like to see Melancon get another chance (9 K/BB, 13 k/9, 0 HR, 0.91 ERA over 20 IP), but he isn't a setup guy either. Obviously nobody in this forum knows more about mechanics better then McClure, but I don't see him working out the starter thing this season. Even if he works his mechanics he still needs to learn the mental attributes of a starte. With Daiskue and Cook coming back soon, at least in this season, Bard provides more value from the bullpen. If he insists on starting, let him try again next spring. And by the way, I can't believe the FO sent him to the minors. I really thought they wouldn't have the balls.
  4. Who is this Marrero guy? Iglesias 2.0?
  5. I guess the pre-deal thing is true. There is no other way around Appel not getting drafted yet.
  6. Stop saying every OF with 3/5 tools is the next Kemp / Jones / Upton.
  7. What the f***.
  8. All of the draftees seem like eggheads this far. Not a bunch of Breslows.
  9. Well, I guess Appel will never be that good. Damn Cubs.
  10. I really thought Appel will go first, then second, then third, then fourth. I still think the Royals will take him. On an unrelated matter, I saw some mocks where we get that short RHP whose name I forgot. Based on the scouting reports I doubt if it will come to it but he seems to be both the talent and the need for now.
  11. The Castro trade could easily be a lose-lose. When Craw and Els come back there is no where to put him in the lineup, and Barnes will most likely to leave in this kind of trade. Other then Bard, the pitching staff is sort of getting it's s*** together. So if anything, trade position prospects and maybe Cook for a decent starter who can complete the rotation and get Bard to the bullpen. I'm just hoping the FO didn't ruin Bard completely by not ending this experiment earlier.
  12. It doesn't really matter how it works, if they let him pitch further he would hit many more batters. It's dangerous.
  13. Can we forfeit to save the bullpen's arms? Is it legal?
  14. The ref should eject him, if it was my team's opposing pitcher I'd demand so. Intentional or not, his lack of control became literary a hazard to the player's health.
  15. That's interesting, I knew he cooled down but not by that much. Some rest ought to help, too bad there aren't any available middle infielders.
  16. Whoever works the 8th needs to be quick, no need to let Aceves face Bautista with runners on base in the 9th. Aceves has a weakness to homeruns with runners on.
  17. We gotta get a hit against a guy who likes women with manly hands.
  18. Let Douby pitch to Johnson and maybe Escobar, but not more then that.
  19. That was a good pitch, right down and away. How did he smoke it like that?
  20. The friendly bounce definitely went Toronto's way tonight.
  21. That curve was the only bad pitch he made this inning. I'm just hoping he can go 6.
  22. A catcher bunting for a hit? Doubront ran out of breaks.
  23. Doubront is looking much better this inning.
