  1. Zambrano says he's in a better frame of mind and the best shape since his rookie year. That should help. Why do I break into a big smile every time I think about Blunder having to deal with this guy? Talk about two guys who deserve each other.
  2. Well put, Elk. Seems as though there's some posters here too who think they own sole rights to opinion. Boy are they sadly mistaken.
  3. Or, we could just choose to ignore your insufferable whining and continue to point out the flaws we see in their methodology. There's room for both, my friend. If you don't think so, there's always the ignore button.
  4. I've been highly critical of Blunder's mis-spending for years. He's perhaps the most incompetent GM currently in the business IMO. His MO was to replace proven players with 'cheaper' models, that's not a good practice. I was hoping they'd discontinue Blunder's philosophy---they haven't. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. I'll continue to be highly critical of them because they won't win anything this way. New ownership is my ultimate goal. These guys have run their course and need to go. I would have spent the money for Buehrle. He would have been a perfect fit IMO. But hey, that's me. There's plenty of people, like yourself obviously, who genuflect to their every move. No biggie.
  5. No surprise to me that you see it that way. Most pollyannas do. And thats's fine. RSN needs its rumpswabs, too.
  6. Fred, I'm sure, will speak for himself, but for as long as I've known him there are several things he doesn't bitch about--two prominent ones being: first---Red Sox teams that play smart, hard-nosed baseball, and second; FO executives who competently do their jobs. Unfortunately, neither of the two currently apply to our beloved franchise.
  7. From the looks of things I think you're right. It looks like they're going to go into ST with Reddick and Kalsih for RF. Too bad, too, we need a RHH bat.
  8. Thank god. The useless asswipe should have been jettisoned three years ago, maybe four. Good riddance.
  9. That's what I was thinking. Shoppach, Lavarnway, Salty...somebody's most likely going in a trade.
  10. You and me both. The way things are shaping up it might be the most exciting action we see all season.
  11. In 2003 when he first announced he'd waive his 'no trade' to get out of AZ, Curt Schilling made it clear he would only accept a trade to two teams: the Yankees and the Phillies. When asked if he'd consider Boston Schilling said 'no,' calling the Sox the biggest loser organization in MLB, and a piece of s*** team. Less than a month later Curt was seated at the table at Fenway saying "I hate the Yankees."
  12. I'm wondering if Valentine will call Dice-K out on this five year long charade he's been pulling about not understanding or speaking English. I sure hope so.
  13. Tough duty. Not only is V playing ambassador, but at some point in the conversation he's going to have to inform Big Diva that if he does in fact choose to re-sign with the Sox he's gonna be expected to run through first base on every AB, as well as learn how to use a glove--two things he's never been told in Boston.
  14. I tend to agree with what you're saying, but the thing that scares me about Beckett is Jack McKeon's testimony about how he was unsuccessful in getting through to Josh about this exact same behavior almost ten years ago when he was with the Marlins. We all know Beckett's got a massive ego and is stubborn as a mule, but he's also go the hardware to back it up. And obviously he hasn't changed a thing over the past decade. So what makes people think he's interested in changing anything now? I can easily see Beckett coming to loggerheads with Valentine and the FO. But I also believe they know that, and are prepared to keep him on a short leash.
  15. He made it on an ESPN broadcast covering the Sox this year. Not sure which one, but I believe it was later in the season when it was clear Crawford had little chance of turning things around.
  16. Did he mention going to rehab or anything like that?
