    Aloha everyone, haven't been on here in a long time since I haven't had a computer in forever... But as my title says I will be making my long awaited trip up to Fenway this year... I kindly ask for any advice or words of wisdom as it comes to Fenway and the city of Boston. We will be coming in Sept 30th to catch the last three home games. We already bought the on the field tour package for Fri and Sat and just bought our tickets for the last game of the season on October 2nd!!! Super excited for this journey and can't wait to finally see them play at home. Mahalo to any and all who respond...

    Love this idea and while we are at it lets try and secure asdrubal cabrera for our starting SS role. :thumbsup: its a total long shot but its better than hearing Lackey's name in the rotation lol cant believe we got rid of Masty for a rental year of Martinez blaaah

    Sorry everyone havent been able to get online in some time and tried to read through most of the last few pages but has anyone heard anything on Victorino as a potential OF... Might be a a little bias cuz hes from Hawaii, and id love to see a Hawaii boy in a Sox uniform but he would do real good in Boston.

    Agreed he is an idiot for writing it on his face, but still, he should not be suspended for such petty things if he was to verbally "assault" an individual in the public by calling him a fagot than maybe but for a general statement posted below his eyes, for all we know thats how he pumps himself up, maybe hes calling himself that so he remembers not to be one lol either way. Society has changed sports so much in the last decade that its disgusting to see athletes have to hide how they really feel bout situations.

    It might just be me but for people getting suspended in Sports for "slurs" is ridiculous tu ere maricon - translated loosely - you are fagot.... im not homophobic but fagot - defined as - fag·ot   [fag-uht] noun 1. a bundle of sticks, twigs, or branches bound together and used as fuel, a fascine, a torch, etc. 2. a bundle; bunch. 3. a bundle of pieces of iron or steel to be welded, hammered, or rolled together at high temperature. Granted it was probably meant in a derogatory way, I dont think Yunel Escobar should get fined or suspended by speaking his mind, so maybe he doesnt like gay people who really cares, freedom of speech and freedom to express oneself has been thrown out the window by over sensitive people now days :thumbdown Anyways I hope he contests his suspension, what does everyone else think about suspending people for "slurs"

    Bobby V. vs John Farrell - some one break this down for me, the thought of john farrell coming back to boston sounds good because he did so great with out pitchers, but.... look at where his team is and they dont have much slouches either his team was stacked. Anyone have any good insight to Farrell coming back to boston

    Sorry havent read through this whole thread and dont come on as often as I would like but I read the other day Bard would be activated today and rejoin the bullpen and imo where he belongs, but what is everyones opinion on Bard assuming the role he should have when we let Papelbon leave and before we decided to let him try convert to be a starter, and have him be the closer?

    Havent read through all 66 pages of this thread, but just looking through possible trade rumors online... Looks like Masty is available from the Guardians but their asking price is 2 position players and a pitching prospect. I liked Masty and even though hes have an off season he has shown just as much if not more talent than most of our starters. Whats everyones take on Masterson coming back to Boston and being in our Rotation?

    I think we should just stick with our farm system at this point it was built up pretty good, and instead of trading away possible breakout stars lets see what they got.

    We are slowly getting all our starters back, and from CC's press conference I just watched it sounds like they have decided to turn him loose on the base paths. Lets just hope he will actually make a difference this year. Good to see Ellsbury already producing, now all we need is Pedey back, combined with some quality starts and we can start climbing the rankings and be where we are suppose to be.

    David Aardsma cleared waivers and while hes coming off a season with an injury and recovering from tommy john surgery reports say by midseason he would be pitching again but if he can get back earlier in the season I think he would be great fit in our bullpen AGAIN anyone else got any names for the bullpen?

    theres no argument its just my opinion I just dont see a bench coach of a team that is coming off two seasons of let down being able to be the turn around boston needs

    Basically I think its a lot harder to manage a lineup and a team in the toughest AL division that Macknin just isnt somone i think that would be able to do that great as the sox manager, and the phillies for the last two years have had a prime team and could have won the world series but somewhere in the clubhouse they werent able to get it done, im not positive why they didnt but in my opinion if the coaches in philly cant get a team primed to win it all pumped up enough to get to the world series, how is just the bench coach suppose to come to boston and pump up the sox from the historic collapse of 11'
