  1. Geez X just saw Billy Hamilton make that stupid play followed by Lindor making that stupid play. Didn't sink in I guess.
  2. Got out of it. Sox pitchers have acquitted themselves way tonight.
  3. I winced as soon as that last pitch to Hoskins left Matt's hand
  4. It is common knowledge that the Red Sox were the last team in MLB to integrate and it is common knowledge that Tom was dragged to it kicking in screaming. You don't have to be a mystic to figure that one out. Even if you could not bring yourself to find the facts about Tom's bias, when you are THE LITERAL LAST TEAM IN MLB to integrate it does not take long to figure out why. As for kicking fans out of seat.....Tom did it way more than one time. It was documented way more than one time and he was not averse to using the N word while giving the command. Just look it up. None of this stuff is hard to find now that we have the "Interweb". Why do you think Yawkey Way is no longer Yawkey Way? I can't believe you would even bother to dispute this. NOBODY DISPUTES Yawkey's racism. Correction: About the same number of people dispute it as the number that dispute the literal fact of the Holocaust. And you are disputing it...Stop being cute. In fact stop the whole damn discussion and get yourself an education on the topic.
  5. This is the wrong place for the discussion. But you can't be serious. - last team in MLB baseball to integrate, dragged to it kicking and screaming. - could have had Willy Mays but "passed" - literally used to kick non-whites out of seats THEY PAID FOR if he didn't like the "optics". Nobody stopped him from doing it either
  6. We really don't have much choice at this point. I suppose we could have brought up Weber to start this game. BJ really did not do a bad job. Gave up all 3 in the 1st inning. Shoot, one of our pitching "stars" could have done that.
  7. Good spot here for DHern. Kudos to Cora for courage. Hope I don't have to eat my words.
  8. Crap....had high hopes for that inning.
  9. In politically correct terms. Other than that Tom was an outright racist and I do mean outright.
  10. Vaz has had the best RH swings against Nola tonight.
  11. We needed you there Beni.
  12. Well I don't know about that. MLB Baseball was much more hayseed than Say hey for many many years. Just ask Tom Yawkey.
  13. Big inning for Brasier. If we can get by this inning we have a slew of LH hitters surrounding Vaz. At least Vaz has a hit. Gotta' get Nola bottom of this inning.
  14. Good job Vaz. Nola made a mistake...Vaz didn't miss it.
  15. Pretty decent job BJ.
  16. No pitcher should be invincible to off handed hitters. If your off handed hitters can't get to a pitcher at all he is in fact pretty close to invincible.
  17. That is what has to happen. Our LH hitters have to get Nola.
  18. Nola WILL throw in the strike zone which is what I mean when I whine about most pitchers who will not challenge anybody. If you don't swing at Nola's pitch you are likely to have the ump call it a strike.
  19. Nola's stuff is nasty. Not sure the Sox hitters have really had much of a shot yet. Maybe the curve up and in to X. But not sure how X would have kept that fair.
  20. Boy I can't tell much diff between last year's Nola and this year's. Not wonderful for the Sox RH hitters.
  21. BJ not missing the barrel tonight so far.
  22. BJ did a good job of keeping the ball off the barrel his last outing. Hopefully he can do that again.
  23. Chavis is not the issue. What Chavis could or could not do at 1st base turned out to be a convenience since they brought him up for his bat and hardly cared where he played. Travis could easily have filled the Pearce role and THAT should have been the decision. Either that or spend the $6M on a 1st baseman other than Pearce. There was NOTHING to recommend Pearce for that contract....NOTHING!
  24. I would rather have seen DD spend more time trying to build a pen. However DD has NEVER built a pen and here we are watching the dynamics of MLB pitching change year by year. Plain on the nose on your face. Apparently beyond DD's comprehension. So you can counter that Pearce was not that big a deal. But Pearce is just another indication of how far behind DD has grown. He has aged beyond his usefulness in this job. Got us a WS. Job done. Thanks and see ya' Dave.
  25. $6M is two decent relief pitchers or 1 good relief pitcher. Would we have liked one of those? Could Sam Travis filled in the Pearce role leaving that $6M for relief pitching? YUP!
