  1. I would about prefer to see the other teams above the Sox lose as opposed to the Yanks. The Sox have to climb past them just to get to the WC. If the Yanks fail those other teams have a better shot at the division than the Sox. The Sox need to get one of the WC it would seem.
  2. Two games into this series and the Sox want nothing to do with Fielder. They have handled Young pretty good so far.
  3. Wonder if JV was looking at the tarp coming out as he was going off the field. Would not be a surprise at this point.
  4. That is a pretty high percentage of balls for JV. I think Shop got the guy at second also. I think it did need to be a perfect through and it was...good play by Ciriaco also as the ball and the runner looked like they almost got there simultaneously.
  5. Well in that particular instance, JV was having real trouble finding the plate. There are instances where it makes sense to take even that goos a pitch and I suspect this was one of them. I don't think I have ever seen such a stretch where JV threw so many balls in a stretch like that. Come to think of it, I don't know what his ball-strike percentages are tonight but he might have a higher ball-strike percentage for the game so far than I have seen from him before.
  6. I thought that was a back spasm and not a muscle strain because of where they were massaging him and the way Beckett walked off which is why I made that Roy Oswalt crack...a back spasm is always a sign of inflammation in there though....he could be out for weeks. 4-1 Sox...Hot diggidy dog
  7. Rejoicing as we speak....thank you
  8. Could it be dueling muscle strains...JV is suddenly all over the place
  9. No question Ciriaco was sitting dead red and was still a little late...another very good piece of hitting by him.
  10. Hum...either WMB was pissed because he should have been sitting dead red and was not or because he was sitting dead red and still got beat. Even though the last one was 98 he was not even close which makes me wonder if in fact he was not sitting dead red. Should have been though...there was no way he could catch up to that heater and hit anything else JV threw for a strike so I would have wanted him to try to make the most of the at bat.
  11. There was no way in hell that the Sox were going to take on that Lee money if the point is the Sox could have gotten Lee.
  12. Saying Beckett strained his side. Beer and Chicken gut going one way while the pitching arm was going the other, created to much strain.:D
  13. Well that explains it...looks a little like we got Roy Oswalt whether we signed him or not.
  14. Ciriaco did make a mistake there but to be unable to throw more than now three strikes since then is ridiculous.
  15. And here we go...all it took was going to the stretch..Josh .has not really thrown more than one strike since going to it I think.
  16. It does not get easier with the guys on deck Josh
  17. Tex was injured in last nights Balt - NYY game. Padilla must have been sticking pins in his Tex voodoo doll.
  18. Now why would you not sacrifice with Shop? What the hell was shop going to do with JV? I know it is early in the game so not the usual spot for a sacrifice but shop does not have much of a shot with Verlander
  19. Thank God Prince got under that one to much. That was a cookie
  20. Salty would have been the move I think or at least a move.
  21. Did not know until just now that Albers and Pods were the players sent off for Breslow. Seems fine.
  22. I don't wonder if they tried to sell and just did not have enough or any interest in what they wanted to sell. Beckett seemed to generate no interest. Lester did but I can see why they were not ready to part with Lester. Salty or Shop or Sweeney might have been the best opportunities and Sweeney went out the window. Seems like somebody should have had interest in Salty and that Salty should have brought back some value.
  23. So I am wondering if we think we are SURE that one of the catchers has been moved....cause I have a bad feeling on that one.
  24. Well the Sox got out their dreg-o-matic again. Leave it to them to whip up a spiffy smoothie when the need is more for some solid meat and potatoes. They certainly did nothing relative to the issues they have. Really was to be expected though so I am just spitting bile for the heck of it.
  25. Apparently the Rangers nixed on Beckett really early on. I had a suspicion that it was not a jockeying for position kind of thing but that Ryan really did not want to bring Beckett in there.
