  1. You just cannot make this stuff up.
  2. That was another example of how easy the change is to hit if it is not in a really good location. Just stick the bat out.
  3. Sox pitchers make so many useless throws when they should be concentrating on the hitter.
  4. They did not bring Ciriaco into the game at SS...
  5. Don't you dare show me those *******s in the owners box while we are actually doing something. Ross hitting behind a runner...stunning....have not seen that all year long. Nice job of going with the pitch...which so few of them do when the opportunity presents itself.
  6. if anything good happens to this team it happens because some poor slob that has been kept for whatever reason apart from most of the nonsense surrounding this "team" is still playing baseball while the rest of them are playing tiddlywinks or something. Way ta' go Pedro...please God somebody put him in a plastic bubble and keep the poison away from him until we can find a way to rid the place of the poison. I just don't think A GUY won't just be overwhelmed eventually....with the THING that is the Red Sox washing over him and beating him into submission. The tiny little islands of actual baseball being played on this team are so obvious compared to what is going on around them.
  7. Ace needs a K here followed by a DP
  8. Oh God here we go....here comes the end. Two on nobody out...we have dicked around all game long and now will pull the late innings el foldo. The silver lining I think is that these bums....all of them from top to bottom from JH to the guy that sweeps the stairs are going to leave nothing to the imagination after this year. Nobody I think will possibly be left looking for silver linings, rationalizations, obscure stats that suggest that if a ball here of there had bounced differently, they would have done thus and so as a team. They are a bad combination of ingredients resulting in a bad baseball team and I do believe that will be the inescapable conclusion.
  9. One thing I find truly interesting is the way the Sox can talk like they are actually "trying" when in fact it is so obvious that they are not working to any plan and equally obvious that V would not have it that way if he had a choice in the matter. If you are not working to a plan you are not in fact trying...you are just up there taking your hacks independent of any other thought process going on anywhere else on the "team". Players and Management alike are going to try to lay blame for this whole mess at the feet of V or possibly V and BC and as little as I care for either one, it ain't going to work. There is no way in my view any real student of the game is going to accept as fact that this is V's fault or V and BC's fault as much as it is the fault of upper management for running this team into the ground and the players for just being the worst examples for a complete and total lack of anything remotely resembling team baseball over what has now even spanned an off season.
  10. Taking pitches that are outside the other way as opposed to trying to pull them is just straight up hitting sense though....purposefully hitting behind the runner is a component of small ball but not trying to pull balls you can't pull is just common sense. Trying to pull when you can't is just stupid, independently minded, senseless, and frankly selfish baseball.
  11. Come to think of it...this is exactly the way Sox at bats looked at the end of last season. Remember what Tito said...they no longer listened to him...he could not get them to respond. Stands to reason that these guys have not listened to nor responded to V from the very beginning.
  12. Doubly frustrating the twins are turning out to be a better late innings team than we are. They keep hanging around and hanging around until late in the game when they beat us. They get it together and we are still foundering around. You would think the Sox would finally just start to play at least differently just because they have been pounded senseless playing this way.....but no....not these guys. Like I said last night I do not believe they are working from a plan of any kind but I do not believe V would have it that way and I do believe V knows it is his responsibility to define a game plan for them. I just think the players and coaches have completely ignored him from the beginning and I don't even know if he tries any longer. Just to be clear, I am not a V fan. I keep saying that just so people don't think he was ever one of my favorite managers. But he has in my view been handed an awful situation and has been set up to fail.
  13. He has been hanging them all night and we have done nothing with them. I very quickly just went to microwave some cheese bits for my daughter and missed the entire bottom of the 5th. We must have had another stellar half inning of baseball. What kills me is tha they do the same thing night after night after night. Then go into the post game presser talking about doing better the next night. But they don't do anything differently...nothing...same failed approach.....and surprise surprise...they get the same result.
  14. The Sox hitters have in the main gotten really sloppy. If you are going to swing at first pitches they better be damned good pitches to hit and if they are damned good pitches to hit, you should do something with them. We don't but it does not stop us from swinging at them. for the most part they are just not pitches you should swing at 0-0 count.
  15. That was not a particularly good AB by Crawford there. That pitch was not in a location he was looking for and was not a pitch he was looking for. Would have been better served letting it go by and try to get on something later in the at bat.
  16. V has had a few opportunities to put Aviles at 3rd this year and has yet to do it once. You would think that Aviles might actually play 3rd better than he plays SS but V has not put him over there one time this year even when he has had the opportunity.
  17. We got some good pitches to work with as well....look at what these guys are doing....the twins for Gods sake....taking the high outer half pitch the other way....pitches up in the zone are good pitches to hit as long as you don't try to do to much with them. One of our knuckleheads would have been trying to pull the damn thing.
  18. Well one run is nice but this guy was throwing hangers up there the whole inning and we really did not get many of them.
  19. Agons would love to have that pitch back. If this guy is going to keep pitching like this to the LH hitters he should get cut to pieces.
  20. What is up with this ump crew? Missing by a little is one thing...these guys are inches off to half a foot off
  21. Buch has had such good command of a number of his pitches....
  22. Well here we go again....more fun and games at Fenway.
  23. i think along with getting screwed royally by the Sox organization, the players have left him totally baffled as nothing he has tried has worked...nothing....at some point you can't blame the manager when the players don't give him any feedback, any indication with regard to something....anything they might be able to do well. Can we pitch and play defense...no....can we manufacture runs....nope.....can we actually stage a rally that looks like a rally as opposed to a bunch of independent but fortunately concurrent offensive events...nope can't do that either.....Can we occasionally string together a bunch of independent and concurrent offensive events...... YES by golly Yes we can that. However, the random nature of these occurrences do not about to a bankable offensive presence that you can plan for and build on. Send them out there and hope for the best is about what V is left with.
  24. Whenever we go on one of our now all to frequent losing streaks, V seems compelled to toss in one of his hunch lineups and we get Punto somewhere.....why in Gods name you would put Punto in the lineup on purpose is beyond me.
  25. Wish we had a better idea when Ortiz is coming back. Not sure it really matters at this point. We really really needed these first two against the twins so badly. As it is now, not only are we not going to sweep them but they are in position to sweep us! We have played so badly against these going nowhere teams.
