  1. I would bet that list grows as MLB gets the names figured out.
  2. Eck...."you are talking about a lotta' footage"....We gotta' get a new NESN dictionary for Eck. The Remy/Orsillo version does not cover some of this stuff.
  3. Are they the only two?
  4. That now looks like Demps at his best.
  5. Man there are bloop singles but that was ridiculous.
  6. Eck is a great change of pace cause he talks about baseball from the pitcher's perspective...something Remy just can't do. But I do think Eck would have a hard time if he had to roll it out there every night like Remy does. Would not mind having Eck there more as long as it did not mean Remy's health was deteriorating.
  7. If it looks like Demps is going to be up in the zone early I think he tends to overcorrect and he ends up looking really funky for awhile. The worst thing that would have happened to that first pitch (hit batsman) would have been if it had been over the plate. It would have hung and just sitting there to be hit.
  8. Gotta' think Drew had trouble getting that out of his glove...looked like a DP
  9. There is so much funny ironic s*** going on around this thing...not assuming anything but Bruins are not looking bad so far. On the ironic side, remember when the whole Iginla thing went down and he was Mr Cheshire Cat having "used" the Bruins to get where he wanted to go. Then we end up getting Jagr almost like a consolation prize cause we had to do something(I guess). At first blush it looks hard to integrate Jagr into what is in the main the defensive minded Bruins. Jagr becomes a little frustrated because he can't hook up with line mates that think about offensive hockey the way he does. But to his credit, he does not give up, Doesn't make a lotta' noise...keeps to the same routine he has adhered to for God only knows how long. We get into the post season and Claude (bless his heart) has found ways to integrate Jagr so that he can get something done and not grow frustrated himself. In the meantime where the hell is Iginla?? He has totally disappeared. You can't even tell he is on the ice its so bad. You would have thought from how that whole thing played out that he would have integrated into the Pens pretty seamlessly. There is a difference between integrated into and swallowed up and it looks like Ignla has been swallowed up.
  10. Once the Pens stop skating it becomes hard to tell what they are. They are not built on defense so lousy Pens defense is not too much of a surprise. But they are getting down so fast and they get frustrated quickly. Tonight they stopped skating before the 1 period ended and they were doomed after that. It became a comedy of errors withs Pens bumping into each other, giving up the puck and then watching three Bruins skate down the other end and score. On one level the Pens are a good example of a team that decides its best player must be the captain. Captain is not insignificant in hockey. Yet Sid the Kid is just that...a kid. He gets moody, frustrated, unhappy and the whole team goes right in the tank with him....crazy stuff. Funny thing about it is guys like Aginla know how to captain a team but are too new to this one to be its captain.
  11. Well it would be hard to argue that Tex coming back is a bad thing for the skanks.
  12. Doesn't matter which goalie the Pens put in there...both of these guys seem to give up rebounds like crazy. It encourages the Bruins to drive the nets and if you know you are gonna' drive the nets it even has an impact on how you enter the offensive zone. Heck it has an impact on how you come out of your own zone. Meanwhile, Bruins defense is staunch, the Pens just seem to get more and more frustrated and Rask has made all the stops save one.....in four periods plus....against the Pens!!! Pens are allowing the Bruins to set up a camp site down there in front of their own goal. Nobody even trying to move them out nor preventing them from getting in.
  13. Holy jumping hockey pucks.....Pens come out unable to score and clueless defensively....3-0 Bruins with 2:40 left in the 1st. And... The Pens were frustrated at the end of Game 1. No idea what they are going to be like now. Fleury is back in the Nets.
  14. Agreed....don't want to jinx them by assuming a win over Pitts but not sure how I feel about things if Chicago sweeps LA and is resting/waiting for the Bruins to get through a tough series. LA is sort of crumbling at present. Quick let in at least one soft one tonight...maybe more than one...didn't see them all.
  15. A little rain delay hockey would have been nice but Blackhawks already won 4-2. Beating Quick like a mule. Can't play Stanley Cup hockey without a hot goalie and Quick is not hot right now...injuries piling up also.
  16. Ortiz shot brought rain!
  17. What a sequence by buch there...that was great pitching to end the inning. Hitter....helpless
  18. Kershaw looking up at Buch.....somebody pinch me!
  19. Honestly I don't think there can be a question of what happens when WMB comes back regardless of what Iggy is doing at the time. The relevant question IMO is: Do they keep Iggy here as a utility infielder/platoon infielder or do they send him back down to play every day in Pawtucket? The Sox could possibly find just enough playing time for him here while not playing him every day.
  20. Iggy rains all over Joe's interview. Strike one was the best pitch Iggy got to swing at last at bat and he let it go by...... Not this time.
  21. Hit a bomb please
  22. Even when you see the stats associated with "clutch" at places like Baseball Reference, the concept leaves you wanting. It is almost like somebody had a "good" idea one day but had no real way to execute on it.
  23. I was just thinking about how much Drew made that look like what you expect from a professional SS and how many ways Aviles would have found to have messed that play up.
  24. Pedey is a plus defender without question. Cano makes "almost" all the plays he should make. But he leaves you with the impression that he could be a plus defender if he wanted to be. However he isn't and there does not seem to be that much want to either.
  25. Every once and a while I will look up suddenly and seeing that Youk stance still throws me when I see the uni.
