  1. Like I said earlier putting Hamilton in RF is one of the worst and least understandable FO moves I have seen in a long time. No idea what the Angels were thinking. Then again, not sure what giving Albert all that money was about either. Funny...we often complain about the BC FO. The LAA's FO is a total joke as far as I am concerned.
  2. Thought we would see more of Carp tonight...guess not Game is winding painfully out to a 4 hour grinder.
  3. Man is there anything anymore that Hamilton won't swing at? By the end of the year I expect Angels fans to be booing him right off the field.
  4. Damn...I think if that had gotten past the mound, Iggy would have beaten it and we would have another run.
  5. If you are in the Northeast this heat is going to catch up to us sooner or later and cause some brownouts.
  6. I wonder if that funky Anaheim backdrop is giving Vic problems. He went 1-5 last night and looks terrible tonight.
  7. Mike Scoiscia suicide watch on
  8. Demps has not been pitching middle up consistently. The fact is he can not survive up....AT ALL. So if he was up as consistently as you seem to be saying he would have been getting killed all this time. Has he been getting killed? Again use Cook as an example...when he would start getting up in the zone you could not get him out of there fast enough. The score could go from 0-0 to 5-0 in the blink of an eye. That is exactly what would happen to Demps if he was up as consistently as you seem to be saying.
  9. I don't think Demps gets that many pitches up. However just like Cook, just about every one of them gets tagged. At least Demps gets guys out which was a problem for Cook. He had to pitch between the bottom of the knee and the top of the knee. Everything else was UP in his case.
  10. What the hell happened? I just took all the dogs out all at once for a break...come back to a tie game!!!
  11. Man these Angels are pitiful. Looks like another example of a team built out of stats that can't play worth a damn
  12. it is getting to the point where I have actually started to feel bad for Scioscia. This has got to be killing him. Seems to me this team played just like this the last time we saw them. So I can only guess that they have played like this the entire time in between. I did not see that dugout exchange before posting. Unbelievable....you have a Manager that is an ex-catcher and a damned good one at that...and an idiot that just threw the ball into LF and the Catcher is jawing back at his Manager. What would be wrong with opening your ears and just taking it since you just f***ed up royally and stuck a run up on the board for the other side in the process.
  13. Vic must not be seeing the ball well out of Williams motion as he was pretty lost up there.
  14. They may have to come up with a new category for Davis using that rocking chair swing with that two ton, heavy barrel bat. All kinds of ways to skin the cat I guess.
  15. WMB has no shortage of power...just no idea what to do with it. Bats might have a bit more power but it is not worlds different. Bats just puts great swings on the ball because he knows what he can hit and what he can't hit. WMB swings at pitches he can't hit with a boat oar.
  16. Want Joey Bats....get WMB to stop expanding the strike zone and be as selective as Bats and BANG....Joey Bats without the leg lift start to the swing.
  17. Why sign Horton for seven years. What...do they actually think he will have the afterburners glowing during the regular season there? Horton was looking for a nice soft landing zone someplace. Not only did he find it but he has it for seven years. I really don't blame him given the concussion situation. Just surprise he got seven years out of it.
  18. Well I guess there is what we think the Sox should do and there is what they will do. I think it very likely that BC will do the thing least likely to disturb future plans while providing something of an answer to this year's issues. To me, that says he will try to bring in a reliever regardless of the alternatives we have in the system now. As for a starter...we have a real dilemma here. It is impractical to stash a front line pitcher someplace in the system just in case. Nobody expends money that way. The recent news on Buch is pretty good. Sounds like he will make it back after all. At least the timeline he is on now suggests that the Sox will know by trade deadline. Replacing Buch is a whole different deal though. Who replaces one of the two best starting pitchers of the first half...It will surely cost something if we really try to bring in a stud. However that is a hole at that point that BC will likely have no choice but to fill.
  19. That was silly....pitchers were making Agons look like that at times last year. Great win for the Sox....What a terrific way to start one of these west coast swing death marches
  20. I don't think Ells gets $20M per either and I think Boras knows it. Why else was he trying to hammer his way into that income bracket earlier this year? That said, once you are willing to say that you would not let him walk for 5/$80 it is almost a forgone conclusion that the bidding will exceed that. I just don't think it gets to 5/$100. Lands somewhere in between maybe with a premium for shorter term. I would be leery of Ells injury history at 5 years, mainly because whenever he goes down, you could build a duplicate of the Queen Mary before he gets back.
  21. Ortiz again.....unreal I am not saying I would have been smart enough to make the right decision on this but I don't think the Angels should have Hamilton in RF. If he was done in Center in Texas what made the Angels think he could be in their RF? If anything RF exacerbates the issues the Rangers thought he would have if he continued in CF.
  22. Like I said earlier this year this particular Angels team has got to be driving Scioscia completely out of his mind.
  23. I think Farrell wanted to give Naps the one game against the LH pitcher and then time off against these 5 righties coming up. I just hope to God that Farrell does not play Carp for one and Naps for four.
