  1. Would be nice if we could come up the next half and string together a couple hits.
  2. Lackey has certainly gotten much more deliberate with a runner on as he has gotten deeper into the game.
  3. Well the difference in field dimensions is one of those things that is so baseball. I would not prefer seeing cookie cutter baseball fields. That said, that hill out there is ridiculous. We are well past the era when an oddity like that is acceptable. It is not like they built the place around the hill. They had to build the hill.
  4. It was really too funny and I am sure you are right BTR. Puig eventually ended up dismissing Agones as if he were some sort of lower life form. Just too funny.
  5. Switched over quick to Cards/Dodgers during the commercial break. Did anybody catch Puig jumping on Agones about being slow as molasses around the bases? Puig had a triple wired with an RBI if it was anybody but Agones running. Agones stopped at 3rd and Puig nearly had kittens. Making all kinds of gestures to Agones out on the bases paths and really jumped on him in the dugout. Eventually they both ended up barking at each other big time.
  6. That looked like he got caught in whatever that turf is covering that field.
  7. I think his talent level may well have been predictable for this season but I don't think the level of maturity he has shown on the mound was predictable especially after showing up for ST out of shape AGAIN. Felix has completely changed the way he goes after hitters.
  8. WMB just ole'ed one at third, taking it to his side, it went right over his glove.
  9. Just got back and switched it on. Any interesting hits so far either from XB or WMB if he is playing? Renaudo must be doing well at 5-0.
  10. Better...Felix is doing things he just would not have done at the start of this year. IMO he is really trusting that he can get guys out without striking them out and he is pitching like it now.
  11. Looks like Felix is done for the day. Best to not take any chances considering the last thing we need is to see Felix up on the shelf.
  12. Well the CF is supposed to take everything he can get to but when a guy is perched right under the ball, it is time for even the CF to give way. Put Pedey in a tough spot there. Pedey probably saved both their asses.
  13. Pedey is such a pro. I think about a hundred guys would not have gotten out of Ells way there...maybe five hundred guys.
  14. Rays/Giants are tied again in the top of the 6th.
  15. Don is a character. Remy was ribbing him about some honorable mention as one of the better looking baseball announcers. What?? The only famous guy that Don reminds me of is Broderick Crawford who made a handsome living as an actor playing 50's style thugs.
  16. Felix only has four K's so far. He used to ring up four in about 2 innings on his way to one of those century mark in 5/6 innings games.
  17. Felix seems to be getting so many more outs on balls put in play now. K's are nice but the run the pitch count up pretty quickly.
  18. Great AB Pedey. I should have looked at the end of the top of the 5th but I think Felix has something like 60 pitches through five innings. That is insane for him considering where he was at the start of the season and most of his career. I have never seen Felix mix his pitches and hit his spots the way he has the last six weeks or so.
  19. Jeez that was a scary deal there. I don't even want to think what would happen to that guy if he got hit that hard with a baseball right in the head again.
  20. Drew seems to like not have Iggy around
  21. Cody Ross has always hit FB's low and inside. There has been times when low and inside was his only hot zone. Low and outside curve balls from the other night are the outlier in his case.
  22. Since the summertime carry season has been in full swing at Fenway a bunch of baseballs have found their way into the CF triangle. Hitters must hate that thing. The bullpens really create the triangle. But from the hitter's perspective it must look like it was put there specifically for them.
  23. Stop complaining and sit down you snake!
  24. They are using Wright to kick the rotation back one day. It is like giving the entire rotation a day of rest....kills two birds with one stone I think. Gives the Sox a chance to look at Wright against somebody other than the M's and give the rotation a day of rest against a team the Sox should beat easily. Maybe there are some match up situations they like better kicking the rotation back a day....
  25. Steven Wright is going to start Tuesday against the Astros. I think that is great. It is a great spot for him to start a game as well. See what he has against somebody besides the Mariners now that he has shown us something.
