  1. The report was "Migraine like" symptoms. I would have preferred they just said a migraine. That sounds like Erod does not suffer from chronic migraine or has not to this point. He went down and stayed down like he was shot. COVID is not just over when you recover from its attack. For many young people including those that have been balls out, free birding in the face of this virus, they are going to end up with heath issues that will haunt them for the rest of their lives and not just respiratory.
  2. Word on ERod...Migraine like symptoms. Don't like the sound of that under his circumstances.
  3. Well we get to see some Valdez.
  4. Eddie looked very unhappy leaving the field like there is something really wrong. Remy guesses back because ERod grabbed his back. Don't know about that. Usually you can feel like you have zinged your back when it happens but the pain is not nearly coming on at that point. Geez the way he looked I would almost be relieved if he zinged his back.
  5. Game 96. This thing has just flown by....or is it that I am so old now that 96 goes by like 19 used to.
  6. Anybody know how many games Springer has been back. He appears completely out of it: - throws a lollypop to the cutoff man on the Hernandez double - the drive to the power alley by JD appeared to fall at the base of the wall...another embarrassment in the OF - then he swings at the 0-0 pitch late almost as an afterthought. At the point he swung he would have done as well to keep the bat on his shoulder. There was zero chance he was going to hit that - then promptly grounds into an inning ending DP
  7. The cooler seems a poor substitute for the laundry cart. Hendandez really did not look like he wanted anything to do with that.
  8. 2B E. Hernandez R CF Jarren Duran L SS X. Bogaerts R 3B R. Devers L DH J. Martinez R LF Alex Verdugo L RF H. Renfroe R 1B D. Santana S C K. Plawecki R 2B M. Semien R SS Bo Bichette R 1B V. Guerrero R CF G. Springer R RF T. Hernandez R DH R. Grichuk R 3B Cavan Biggio L LF L. Gurriel R C R. McGuire L Very RH batting order for the Jays. Almost as RH heavy as the Yanks. But I think the Jays are more aggressive hitters and get more 1st pitch FB's to hit because of it. They CAN hit.
  9. Sox are lucky they are not playing like this at home in front of a big Fenway crowd. They think THIS is a tough crowd to play in front of. Play like this in front of a packed house in Fenway and watch what happens.
  10. Get it out of your system Sox. You have totally stunk up the place since the rain starting falling in earnest last night.
  11. And the confrontation between pitcher and hitter IS NOT a massive mental game????? You might think the rest is secondary until its your responsibility to make plays....all kinds of plays. It does not seem secondary when you have taken a ground ball off your nose then booted the ball halfway around the ballpark or threw to the wrong base or ace overthrown the cutoff man at the worst possible time. Those two throwing mistakes will really make you feel stupid It seems very real, very present and you feel like you are standing there with your pants around your ankles. Now I have seen some guys playing MLB now that I do not even consider baseball players. They are simply hitters and the way MLB has screwed this game up, they actually have a shot at hanging around. They stumble around in the field and on the bases. They don't even seem interested in playing. They are only interested in hitting. This is a fairly new phenomenon. But I know who they are. Interested to see how long they hang around on an MLB roster even given how the game is played today. Base running is no longer treated as important. I will give you that. It is still frustrating to see guys who appear not to know the golden rule of base running. You cannot outrun the thrown baseball. I don't care how fast you are or how fast you think you are. You can't outrun the thrown baseball. You can run on some guy with a rag arm throwing lollypops around the field, but that's it. If they were still playing this game the way it was intended to be played "the rest" would not even seem secondary.
  12. Well the Sox are doing everything in their power to resuscitate the Yanks.
  13. Rafi is young. Puts too much pressure on himself. Expects to pick up the team constantly and that is a lotta' pressure to put on yourself over 162. This game is not about physical strength or muscles or even conditioning as much as it is about dealing with the pressure of playing in the field, hitting, base running (which none of them can do any more) and doing it in multiple situations which you have to determine before a play has to be made. Making it up on the fly won't work in this game. It is certainly the hardest mentally of the team sports. Golf is likely the hardest mentally over all. Professional golfers are dealing with mental strain all the time and there is nobody to pick them up. Watch a pro golf tournament in person sone time and watch how they shape the ball around the course. WE are not playing the same game as they are. Soccer is likely the toughest game physically. Tennis is tough mentally in that you know you have to dominate your opponent or your opponent will dominate you and tennis players break down a good deal. So they are often out there gimping around.
  14. I hate it when ARod is right. But he is right about Rafi's swing. Its getting big. Its like he is winding up to swing and he is not on time through the hitting zone doing that.
  15. Bobby 0-2 AGAIN Hey there is something Bobby didn't swing at
  16. Why didn't you just put the Torres pitch on a tee for him Perez.
  17. Oh no......the managers would worry that their precious starting pitchers would be forced to sit through a long delay after only two innings of work. Never mind that they have another 13 pitchers sitting behind them cooling their heels and they just all came off a 3 day break.
  18. I grew up outside of New York and had to deal with them at Fenway and Yankee Stadium for a lifetime most particularly during the 70's and 80's when these games took on proportions of all our fan warfare. Winning this game will say to some of those nimrods that they should throw at an opponent Ofer every game. "Yah...we know how to win now!"
  19. I am more disgusted with shots fired at a baseball game in DC. I mean we are really f***ing up in this country. Rant over.
  20. Well lets see...they delayed the game for an hour for rain that never came for that hour. Now they are playing in a downpour. Was the potential for a downpour worse than the actual downpour? Somebody wake me up when MLB does something right in the way baseball is administered. I won't hold my breath. As for the umps themselves. They are no worse tonight than they are any other night.....Meaning.....don't get me started.
  21. Well that sucked. We have won a lotta' ball games to only be 1.5 games up on the Rays.
  22. Hopefully the site won't go down as it did yesterday.
  23. Obviously for anybody looking at the time stamp for this post, the hours I keep may not conform to the start of this game. Hence I figured I better get the game thread up now.
  24. Bing ....Bang....Bong....Its 1-1
  25. Bing....bang....bong...Phils 1, Sox 0
