  1. Great job by Wright there.
  2. Trust me, its obstruction. Its not the sandlot Rafi. What kills me is Rafi still actually does not know what he did wrong. Do they teach these kids anything, anything at all besides which end of the bat is the butt and which end the barrel?
  3. Plus look at the schedule. The next time Pom is scheduled is at home against the laughable tigers of the laughable AL Central. I suspect he will get that start. I have been really torn mainly because we don't find out anything anymore about player condition. If Pom is not coming back physically as they expected, if it were me, I would take the strain off of him because I had Wright and hope to get a really sporty Pom back before the season ends. But without any information other than what I can see of Pom himself and how the Sox have handled him to this point, my bet....he gets the start against Detroit.
  4. When the time does come, Wright will be the guy that gets the rotation nod IMO.
  5. It might take half a bottle of pain pills. But based on what they have done with Pom to this point I am inclined to think that is what they are going to do unless of course he exacerbated some physical problem during tonight's stint.
  6. This won't be a popular opinion. But if I had to guess, I would guess they are going to stick with Pom a bit longer. Somebody in that dugout challenged him to go back to his stock sequence and he did that, with limited success but he did it, showing the best FB he has shown in weeks. So my guess, having stuck with him this long and based on this performance he will get another start.
  7. Kemp looked like he was about to sit on Santa's lap and call out his Christmas list.
  8. So that is a straight up throw down by the Astros. They are betting that we cannot overcome this two run deficit with what remains of the game. That is not the same thing as saying the Astros don't think they will score again in this game. They are betting we won't overcome the deficit.
  9. An actual baseball play.....picking myself up off the floor as we speak.
  10. I don't think we can kid ourselves that Pedey has that left in him all things considered. He is more likely to become our version of Martin, Donaldson. Tulo, Morales (take your pick) than he is to be Altuve.
  11. Remy did say Beni ran through the stop sign. I don't know why NESN did not show more replays of that play. There was a good deal of stuff going on in that play that was worth looking at again.
  12. I think Remy is wrong. I don't think Kemp took a route straight across to try to get to that liner. In fact, I seriously doubt anybody could have made a play on that ball.
  13. Keep going that way JBJ and when you get sick of it, still keep going that way.
  14. Single best 4 seam Pom has thrown in weeks to get the 3rd out. He's trying. Pom never quits. Gotta' give him that. He might have been told that he has got to be able to go back to his old sequencing no matter what which is likely an accurate observation.
  15. Lets see if Pom has the guts to throw that 4 seam FB anywhere near the strike zone or if he just start showing it.
  16. Well that didn't take long. Teams are going to eat that FB alive for as long as they keep running Pom out there at this point. He is being saved only by the general level of trash in this league this year combined with teams needing to be convinced that his FB is what his FB is right now.
  17. Soreness in the knee is the report on Pedey. Man this game is hard on the wheels. This game and tennis are really similar that way with tennis taking more stamina within a game or match obviously. But once you are injured in the lower body, both games can be really cruel.
  18. They just made that switch. NESN had it Swihart to 2nd and no other details. Probably should have figured, the "no other details" was the story.
  19. Anything new on Mookie or are the Sox still pretty quiet on the topic? Actually I just checked...Cora is just blathering along....more or less saying nothing. At some point if he does not get back into the lineup lets say in the next couple of days, the blather is going to stop buying the Sox time. Pedey has just been made a late scratch, like just now. Swihart moving to 2nd. Not sure about the other details just yet.
  20. JBJ needs to keep going oppos and when he gets sick and tired of going oppos, he should go oppos some more.
  21. We can always depend on you for some trollish sour grapes.
  22. The guy had called a wide strike zone all day long. Suddenly he is in the 9th inning, our closer on the mound to end the game and NOW he gets picky!!!
  23. F you Ump. Go sit on a flagpole and rotate.
  24. You know there was actually a time in baseball when a game like this would instill in the home plate ump a need to simply compel a mercy killing. Toronto is nowhere near the caliber of team it needs to be to compete with the Sox. They have been dominated for three straight days and if anything what used to happen in a case like this is that the home plate ump would endeavor to just get it over with. Lets not embarrass these guys more than is necessary. Now if anything it seems entirely reversed with umps somehow determining that they have got to insert themselves in the proceedings as a leveler more or less. Like they just don't have enough impact on the game as it is??
  25. Oh my God Jerry. What were you looking at back there? Ump just can't miss a call that badly. Should immediately turn in his chest protector.
