  1. Well our stacked LHers did absolutely nothing there. That was sort of annoying.
  2. What are the Dodgers grinning about on the bench. They have had a lead in this series for all the good it did them. I am working up a healthy familiarity breeds contempt dislike for this Dodger team. I don't like their game at all. I don't like it at the plate and I don't like it in the field. I am not sure they would have made the WC in the AL.
  3. Well we do know the ump works for MLB. Think MLB is interested in a sweep?
  4. That was not even close to being a strike to JD.
  5. f*** this Dodgers team barely makes routine plays for God sake.
  6. Well looking on the bright side, Buehler is not overpowering anybody. On the not so bright side, that was just a ridiculously stupid base running play by Bradley and JD really does look gimpy.
  7. Well there is a first Porcello.
  8. It appeared that Vaz saw Bellinger coming over and respected his arm. Bellinger promptly airmails a powderpuff throw to the middle of the infield.
  9. That said, I will repeat...the Dodgers are actually embarrassingly bad in the field except for Turner and Bellinger, certainly for a league champ.
  10. I don't know what that was....an effort to embarrass Buehler? Come on guys.....that was ugly.
  11. I know we want to push the defensively weak Dodgers. But that was flat dumb
  12. Hard for Rick to go through more than a couple innings without at least looking like he is about to give up a PORCELLO.
  13. JD is trying not to put weight on that ankle. You could see it in his gait going after that fly ball.
  14. That was a perfect strike 3 pitch to Betts though. Not sure how many of those Buehler has in him.
  15. So if they get Moreland here the Dodgers might consider this a successful inning. But what the Red Sox are saying is "go ahead kid...throw your 98, you are not throwing the ball past us". Maybe some other team, some other night....not us and not tonight.
  16. The Dodgers are the "play everybody out of position" BS team. Not the Red Sox.
  17. I don't think Cora wants JD in RF tonight and he did not want to move Mookie to CF. This way, they just make one change instead of two. JD to LF for Beni.
  18. Interesting that Cora is stacking three LH hitters 5 though 7 in the order.
  19. So lineups not out yet. But JD getting LF. JBJ in Center and Mookie in RF. I suspect, the LH Dodgers lineup v Porcello is driving this decision. Beni likely enters later if we have a lead. Holt gets 2nd and I am assuming Devers gets 3rd.
  20. That would be as absurd as bringing them up too early. But thanks for pointing out where the other end of the spectrum is since neither end of the spectrum makes a lick of baseball sense.
  21. Actually its make money now or "see ya' later". Team's PR departments go absolutely ga-ga to market these guys and make sure we all fall in love with these diaper dandies...the cutie pies of baseball. That is really what is going on. How can we get all the little boys and girlies into the park with mommy and daddy? How do we keep our ratings up? They are actually trading away control on the back ends of contracts which makes no baseball sense whatsoever. Its Marketing driven.
  22. Pretty...the most useless term ever applied to a swing. Its too big and his hands get outside the ball too much which is why he is so successful going opposite field instead of employing that "pretty" hero swing which tends to yield warning track power, that is if he hits the ball at all. More often than not he creates a rustle of the air with that thing or pops up! Devers was also brought up too soon, both of them caught in the blizzard of MLB players brought up too soon. The question we should really be asking is why are so many of these guys being brought up too soon. Why are teams willing to trade off years of control on the back end of their rookie contracts, something they have rarely done in the past and only for very special players? What will be the consequences of exposing them this early to the Bataan Death March of the 162?
  23. I don't give a damn about his 34 games in 2016. Probably should have come up as a roster expansion in 2016. Should have spent at least half of 2017 at AAA. Maybe he would have figured out that his hero swing really does not play that well there and would have turned a very good 2018 into a monster 2018. He did not move toward opposite field hitting to the degree that he does now until half way through 2018. Had he kept at that hero swing of his he would not have even had a 2018 of merit. Plus we would not have started the clock to free agency as early as we have if we did not bring him up for the full 2017 season.
  24. IMO if Beni just continues to mature he will be fine. Beni was simply one of the latest of these diaper dandies that we have brought up too soon to be filling a ML uni. This year, he finally showed signs of becoming not a mature but a maturing player, giving up more often on his hero swing and instead going oppo yielding him a very solid season for his efforts. Ended up with more oppo field hits than any other AL player. The more he gives up the hero swing (he is not a HR hitter of any consequence) the more he will succeed against the curve.
