  1. I just woke up. And realize. The Sox play!!!!! I’ll do my annual. Throw up in the toilet and get a beer ready!!!
  2. Damn. Well said.
  3. Gonna be one hell of a tough series. Let’s do it boys!!
  4. I trust he will be. Lots of confidence getting that win against their rivals with that much pressure. He was unreal in game one outside of the early home run. I trust Kimbrel will be awesome against the Astros.
  5. Price fans have been hoping this for 10 straight starts now. Hopefully this is his moment...... again.
  6. Lol I like that name for a dog actually.
  7. Maxibialystock is right though!!!! How is this an argument?????? Kimbrel got the save and we won the game. He is exactly right when he says you are projecting what COULD have happened. But the reality is he got 3 outs and won the game in a high pressure situation against a good Yankee hitting team. Had Kelly come in and completely blew this game there isn’t a single person here that would defend him in that. I sure as hell wouldn’t. He went to the closer and we won the game. End of story.
  8. ********. No pitcher wants to come into the 9th inning with that much pressure. Kimbrel was the best suited because he is used to situations like that as he is the closer. Maybe Kelly wasn't shaking in his boots but I guarantee you he was nervous and if you asked him he would probably tell you himself.
  9. Agreed! Even though we won this series 3-1 it was a hell of a series. I told my girlfriend last night that if the Yankees come back to win this game I don't think we win this series. Was a game of inches last night!
  10. I don't believe for a second that Kelly wanted to come into that game in the ninth inning with all that pressure. He is a professional and would do so when called up, but he would have made just as many errors as Kimbrel if not more.
  11. I want to see Price pitch a great game!!!! I am excited for him to start actually.
  12. He didn't do it in game 1. Probably just nerves in an elimination game.
  13. Trying to win. Which is why you bring in the closer who has the 3rd most saves this year
  14. You use who you have used all year. Kimbrel. And he was excellent in game 1 outside of that one home run. He shut down 3 batters after that in no time. There was no sign saying Kimbrel wasn’t ready to go. Maybe now that he has a post season win under his belt he will build off of that and be that much better. Hell you could tell Kelly didn’t want to come out. When the Sox won he cheered harder than anyone. Probably because he was scared shitless of coming out and blowing the game.
  15. Although I understand your frustration I still agree with Cora sticking with Kimbrel. As mentioned before, the 9th inning with the Yankees season on the line is one of the most stressful innings a pitcher will ever pitch. Had Sale come in the 9th and blew it, we would be sitting here saying "Why the hell did you not go with Kimbrel??" A guy who (although gave up a run) in the first game absolutely dominated the next 3 pitchers. He is our closer for a reason and that is his job. To come into a high pressure situation and win us the game. It was a struggle I will give you that but in the end he got the job done. Scary but we got the win. Closing a game out against the Yankees or Astros is no easy task for any pitcher on any given day. Kimbrel is 3rd in saves this year so it was no surprise he went to Kimbrel. And in the end as intense as it was we got the win.
  16. This. As much as I want to see Boston sweep Houston. They are too strong and this series will likely go the distance. Using Price out of the bullpen is much more realistic than using Sale.
  17. God I hope you're right! Astros still scare me with that powerful offense they have. But I do agree, I think overall we win the pitching battle assuming Price can pitch decent and Porcello keeps doing what he is doing.
  18. Big time. In fairness Houston lights up a lot of starters. They are such a powerhouse offensively with pretty much no weaknesses. Just like the Yankees series, if Sale and the rest of the starters can go 5 innings or 6 and keep it manageable I'll be happy. Of course I would prefer 7 or 8 but hey.
  19. Regular season absolutely! Post season Porcello is. Porcello was fantastic last year against Houston, and was fantastic again last night vs Yankees. Price didn't even make it 2 innings. I'm all for giving him a shot but just keep a short leash on him like we did in game 2.
  20. I’ve been one of the biggest Price supporters on the board and was really hoping he can prove the haters wrong in game 2. And yet again he failed. Which brings me to the question..... Is he getting another start against Houston? I honestly would rather see anyone els start and he come out of the bullpen. I know with what we are paying him and how good he has been in regular season he will get a start. But the guy just gives us zero chance to win in the playoffs. As usual if he gets the start I will be hoping he can overcome his playoff disasters but if it’s anytning like game 2 against the Yanks we are toast.
  21. For the most part I do agree. They had a fantastic run last year and gave us a hell of a series. Even though we won 3-1 Game 1 and tonight was a heart attack. Yankees have a bright future if they keep this group together.
  22. Same here!!! Revenge is sweet!!!
  23. Looking at the Houston Astros forum saying they are going to kill us and sweep us. Man all I hope is we make it a damn good series. Cocky bastards.
  24. I was puking in the sink.
