  1. Good inning for Cashner.
  2. He has gotten his fastball up to 97.... So it remains to be seen why he can't throw that every time. Injury is my guess?
  3. Same here. Tomorrow is my EDO.... This is my Friday, gonna get beer and then go home. Also Saskatchewan Roughriders are playing Hamilton Tigercats tonight so i'll be watching that. I live in Saskatchewan. CFL is big here haha, though I prefer the Colts way way more.
  4. He had a big stretch of games where he seemed ok not having his fastball and actually pitched very well with his other pitches, but not quite sure what's happened since.
  5. I'm with you, but the confidence is starting to get lost with me. Every time this team shows some promise like going 5-2 in the Rays/Yankees series, they piss it away and lose 3 or 4 in a row. We need to get on a streak starting tonight, and hope to hell that this starting rotation get's their s*** together (more specifically Sale, Price and Porcello) But it all starts with one win, so lets get it tonight!!!
  6. Well said Jung. At the end of the day, this is simply not the same team from last year.... Not even close. The pitching stinks to high heaven, the offense (granted we are number 1 in the league) only scores runs in chunks. It seems the offense goes absolutely nuts for one series like they did against the Yankees, but then goes relatively quiet the next series.... And don't get me wrong I am not saying this is the on the offense because it's not. If we didn't have the bats that we do we wouldn't even be close to a playoff spot right now. At the end of the day the pitching just isn't good enough. O'Brien summed it up nicely yesterday when he said "This bullpen wasn't meant to save us if the starting rotation wasn't good" And that is so very true. We are paying a lot of money to Sale, Price and Porcello. They should be going at least 6 innings every game and a lot of the time 7 innings. Price I think has only gone over 6 innings like once or twice this year (maybe it's more, don't care to look) Sale and Porcello are no better. Asking this bullpen to go 3 innings or a lot of the time 4 innings every game is asking a hell of a lot from these guys. It all starts with our starting rotation..... And they have not been good and that is why we are not currently in a playoff spot right now. When this rotation starts consistently going 6/7 innings and giving up 3 runs or less we will win a hell of a lot more games. Until then, if things don't change we are simply not a very good team.
  7. This! As I mentioned before..... Price's last 10 starts have been 6 or lower. Actually only 4 games out of his last 10 has he gone 6 innings. Otherwise it's 5 or less and he has given up 23 runs in his last 6 starts. That doesn't give the offense, defense, bullpen or coaches a chance. This starting rotation is total s***. Sale and Porcello aren't any better either. E-Rod has been good lately, that's it. Cashner was decent his last start too.
  8. Not Cora's fault at all. Who would have predicted that one of the best rotations last year is one of the worst this year..... Our "Ace" has worse numbers than some teams 3rd guy.
  9. I honestly am just frustrated with Price and his inability to go more than 5 innings in a baseball game now. I can't remember the last time he has gone 7 plus, and a quick search shows me he has only gone 6 innings 4 times in his last 10 starts. That is beyond pathetic..... He has also given up 23 runs in his last 36 innings. He started the season well, but he is dropping at an alarming rate.
  10. To be fair, winning a World Series and then a year later being in the bottom 10 for pitching is pretty disturbing.... Definitely deserves criticizing no matter what team and fanbase it is.
  11. Sale will work his ass off in the off season to try and get back to his old self or close to. We have seen him have some very good games this season, so he can do it.... He just needs better command now that he doesn't have his super fast ball to rely on. Price is what he is..... He seems to be getting worse with age actually. His 3.00 and under ERA seasons are long past. Porcello.... is likely gone. At one point I didn't think we would get any better at a 5th spot in the rotation but his ERA is close to 6.... That is ugly and I think I would take my chances with just about anyone else.
  12. Well said. Sale looked damn good against the Jays and Rays but struggled against the yanks. Hope he rebounds. Cashner was solid his last start, we will see what he can do tonight. And E-Rod has been fantastic the last month.... More less Price and Porcello I really worry about.
  13. If anyone didn't catch it last night, Porcello smashed 2 tv sets with his hands on his way out. Can't say the guy isn't passionate. Really hope he breaks out of this slump sooner rather than later. https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2019/08/boston-red-soxs-rick-porcello-apologizes-for-breaking-tv-monitors-its-not-the-behavior-that-i-condone.html
  14. We have a bottom ten pitching rotation and bullpen. Won’t make playoffs with that. Just won’t happen no matter how good the offense is.
  15. Price started the year off very well. In fact when the rotation sucked he was the one I trusted. But he just can’t give us an entire year of consistent injury free baseball. It is what it is. Now he is only going 5 innings and he isn’t even playing good through those 5 innings. Sale I still think will work his ass off in the off season to get back to somewhat his old self.
  16. Good point
  17. Heart breaking to watch. Did anyone see Porcello tonight? He literally looked defeaTed. Put his head down and just looked crushed. Ugh. Sad.
  18. I’m off to bed folks. This game has saddened me.
  19. Ya honestly I don’t even know. They’re as bad as each other. Equally blow games. We might need a lot of changes in the off season. E Rod is the only bright thing right now and Workman. Maybe Walden.
  20. It’s a sad when I trust the bullpen more than the starters now. Seriously I do. Outside of E-Rod
  21. They must be disgusted with the pitching
  22. Outside of E Rod I just don’t trust this rotation. Can’t beliebe we didn’t make a single move.
  23. Half decent pitching tonight and we would be winning.
  24. Imagine if we had last years pitching
