Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Even the worst MLB teams still win 50-60 games. Tigers had lost 13 of 15. They had to win at some point; I was just hoping it wouldn't be against us. I knew that both the Yanks and Sox probably wouldn't sweep them, so I was hoping they would steal one in NY before coming here.
In my mind, there's nobody to really blame for this one. Sure, blame Whitlock if you want to, or the offense for leaving people on. Renfroe left them loaded in the 6th, but he's still swinging it well. Xander left them loaded in the 9th, but he hit a rocket. Nothing wrong with the start from Perez either; that's about what we can expect from him each time out. I thought for a brief minute there in the 7th, 9th, and 10th that we had a chance of stealing this one.
Let's bring the bats this afternoon to help Nate regain form, and then go to our favorite road ballpark to play in over the years and put another beating on the Orioles. We will not face Means this time around, since he pitched yesterday and they are off today.
