  1. This game is officially in the books. Sox snap their 2 game losing streak with a 0-0 tie against the Rays. Both pitchers threw perfect games.
  2. Okay. But still, they find ways to score late in ball games and make closers look bad. This weekend they get Mariano with a ESPN game on Sunday. They won a lot of those 1 run games last year against pretty decent closers.
  3. With Aceves and Hanrahan, anything can happen.
  4. So Aceves goes tonight? I would rather see a guy like Miller (a lefty) or Uehara replace Lackey. Aceves makes me worry, and that's never good. On a side note, with the rain tomorrow, I will probably see Lester pitch on Sunday rather than Buchholz.
  5. Aceves is pitching. Not good. If you look at my signature, you will see a post from a game thread last season and understand why.
  6. I went on a BP tour a few years back. It's great, but I also went to one in Cleveland, where we went into the cages in the clubhouse and watched the Sox players hit (they were in Cleveland, which was why I was there). Then a few of them introduced themselves. Pretty cool. Because Fenway is now a National Historic Monument, they don't do that, but they never did it in the first place. My BP tour was the afternoon before a Sox-Yanks game. If you need any ideas on what to do in Boston, where to eat in or outside the park, or anything else, just let me know.
  7. Welcome to Talksox both of you! Don't blame us if we ever doubt you, you know we couldn't live without you (new users).
  8. Read today that the sellout streak is officially over, unless 7,000 fans swarmed the gates this afternoon. Done at 793, I'm going to what would have been #799, with #800 on Patriot's Day. How nice would that have been?
  9. Not too confident with Dempster on the mound. Didn't look good in his first start.
  10. The only time I sweat through my shirt was volunteering at a PGA Tournament. 100 degrees and humid. Guess where it was? Connecticut.
  11. Jasonbay, its time for a new game thread.
  12. Well I'm certainly glad UConn won, but Louisville had a great story.
  13. It's been in the 70's in CT this week. The rain coming on Thursday will cool things down a little though.
  14. I would have preferred Michigan to win, but the whole Kevin Ware thing made it nice for Louisville.
  15. Now I don't want to see Aceves start. With the off day, they should go with a 4 man rotation this time around. Why? So I can see Buch when I go on Sunday. When his turn comes around again, he is a good option to replace Lackey.
  16. Take the T or something. There are going to be mobs. Plenty of closed roads. I'm sure you know what it's like.
  17. I'm in the same place on Sunday, but behind the Rays dugout.
  18. Hey guys, I was just surprised with tickets to the Sunday game against the Rays. Would have been Patriots Day, but I'm not driving through the traffic. Seats are behind Rays dugout, but I'll make due.
  19. I'm chilled. It's called sarcasm.
  20. Explain Buchholz and Lester.
  21. Did you go to Wrigley for Sox-Cubs last year? I was supposed to.
  22. He reminds me of Gagne. Not as bad, but similar build.
  23. This team looks better and better each day. Yesterday they had good offense. Today, good pitching. I missed the first 6 innings. How dominant was Buchholz? Haven't read his stats yet.
  24. Anyone know who's throwing out the first pitch?
