I went on a BP tour a few years back. It's great, but I also went to one in Cleveland, where we went into the cages in the clubhouse and watched the Sox players hit (they were in Cleveland, which was why I was there). Then a few of them introduced themselves. Pretty cool. Because Fenway is now a National Historic Monument, they don't do that, but they never did it in the first place. My BP tour was the afternoon before a Sox-Yanks game. If you need any ideas on what to do in Boston, where to eat in or outside the park, or anything else, just let me know.
