    Another Giants pitcher with a high ERA. We should be scoring in the double digits today.

    Morneau plays no more than 4 games a year at Fenway, so that isn't a high amount of games.

    True. Logan is a pretty good lefty killer. Joba has been inconsistent. Overall, I give their pen a B+, and our current pen a B.

    Taz and Koji are still our best bets with the game on the line. Besides Mo, who hasn't been that reliable, the Yankees don't have anyone reliable in to pitch 8th/9th. Workman is decent, but you are right. We just have too many injuries. The Yankees pen is where they have the least injuries.

    This is why we need Buchholz back. When he comes back the top 3 of our rotation will be pretty solid. If Lester's next start is even half as good as Monday's, it will be a sign that he is starting to turn things around. Peavy has been pretty good so far, but hasn't really gotten run support, at least in his last two starts. I think Buchholz's return will improve the morale of not just the pitching staff, but the whole team. They know that if they get some runs and play good defense, they are almost guaranteed to win with their dominant ace on the hill. On a side note, Buchholz has been out since game 2 of the DH on June 8th, the last game I was at.

    He's still growing into his body, so for all we know, he could be the next Miguel Cabrera.

    Xander's debut has come and gone. What have we learned about him? Not much. I do still think that he can become the next Pedey.

    Looking ahead at this weekend, we have a dilemma. Yankees @ Rays for a 3 game set. Way the Yanks are playing, we need them to win, but they could be right up there to at the end of the weekend. Friday's probables are CC against Ramon Hernandez
