  1. Normally, I hate 1-0 games, even when the Red Sox win. But last night was different. This 1-0 game was acceptable. Yes, there were not as many runs scored by our beloved Red Sox as we would like, or that a shutout can only occur when the opposing team can't hit the ball into the beach standing in the ocean. It showed us that even when we get outdueled by an ace, we can still beat those Rays, because well, they suck, and we don't. Here we are, on day #3 of Thunder mojo. I hope that I have earned the right to institute my mojo when I please. The Red Sox are finding many different ways to win, and they are winning one run games, a thing they did back in the magical year that was known as 2013. They've started to come from behind to win, another thing that led to their 2013 success, and was a big part of their 2014 failures. I find confidence in the fact that there are many different ways to win, which goes up exponentially when the opponent is a team as bad as the Rays, the shame of Florida in all sports, worse than their NFL city-counterparts, the Bucs. At least they'll be getting a Heisman winner with the 1st pick in the NFL draft. The Rays don't deserve to reside in the tropical paradise that is Florida. They should not have a home city, and play all of their games on the road, because the Trop is just north of hell, but Hades himself would probably much rather torture his subjects by having them listen to foghorns, cowbells while sitting on rugged Astroturf for eternity. This Rays team is worse than anything seen in the late 90s and early 2000s. Why shouldn't we destroy them? We don't need all these fancy ways of winning. All we need is about 10 runs and a 2 hitter (or less). That would be nice. The Pitching Matchup: Joseph "Do not call me Jr." Kelly, Jr. (1-0, 2.13) vs Nathan "Raise your hand if you've heard of me, because even I haven't" Karns (1-1, 4.58) Show no mercy! WIN!
  2. Lightning may not always strike twice, but Thunder mojo does.
  3. Looks like what we were expecting. I just checked Gameday quickly while I'm taking a break. We need to be patient. Work the count against Archer, so we get to the pen early. The Rays aren't going to blow us out of the building.
  4. I'm going to be off the grid for this one. I've been studying for, and will continue, my first final tomorrow. It's an AP class, so I have the actual AP Test from the Princeton CollegeBoard in a couple of weeks. Being smart is so annoying.
  5. Red Sox: Betts CF Pedroia 2B Ortiz DH Ramirez LF Sandoval 3B Nava 1B Victorino RF Holt SS Hanigan C Rays: Brandon Guyer LF Steven Souza, Jr. RF Logan Forsythe 1B Evan Longoria 3B Desmond Jennings CF Tim Beckham SS Rene Rivera DH Ryan Brett 2B Bobby Wilson C
  6. No, but I hope to earn the right to post GTs more often. It all depends on the length of this win streak, which I say is record-breaking.
  7. It felt so great walking the halls today in school knowing that we have Thunder mojo. This feeling is so rare to me, so let's make it last a lot longer. Yesterday was the beginning of something magical. The thrill that was yesterday, from the Marathon, to the 11 AM start, to the absolutely s***** weather, is gone. The Sox are now in Florida. It seems great, until you find out that they are in the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater vicinity, meaning that they are playing the Rays, in the shithole known as the Trop. There was a rumor a few years back that the Rays were going to relocate to Hartford, but its a good thing they did not, or else the great state (not really) of CT would have something else to boast about other than the lackluster beaches on the polluted Long Island Sound that are fed by the dirty, but not as dirty as the East River, Connecticut River. Also, if they moved here, they would have even less of a fan base than they do now, since everyone here is either a Sox fan or Yankee fan for life. Now here we are in 2015, playing a 3 game series that is a rematch of the 2008 ALCS, and 2013 ALDS. Both teams have come so far from that point 18 months ago. The Sox went onto win the World Series, but then fell down to the cellar of the AL East, but they come in trying to pull off a 5 year result of: Blowing it in September to allow the Rays into the playoffs, Finishing Last, World Series Victory, Finishing Last, World Series victory. The Rays on the other hand have lost all knowledge of how to play baseball. Gone are Big Game James, David Price, Ben Zobrist, Melvin Upton, Jr., and most importantly Joe Maddon, who saw more promise in the Cubs, the very team that hasn't won a World Series since a Habsburg king was on the Austro-Hungarian throne. These Rays are the opposite of Devils, so let's not use that term this season. They have no promise whatsoever, so let's beat the s*** out of them. Anything less than a sweep is unacceptable. Your pitching matchup: Wade "The Southern Boy who just doesn't give a f***" Miley (0-1, 10.57) vs Chris "I'm so cool that I wear stirrups" Archer (2-1, 1.37). Despite Archer's ERA, I expect an ass whooping. WIN!
  8. Verizon has almost no coverage statewide, as I learned the hard way. AT&T is solid, and there are plenty of places with free WiFi, to go along with those who can afford it.
  9. My time was spent in West Virginia, in a rather poor area, as I was helping to build houses. We visited some family in VA on the way back. My dad was born in the Newport News area, and my aunt hasn't moved far, still living in Waterford, which is near the WV border.
  10. Thank you, ma'am! I credit it to the fact that I was in your home state on Saturday. I felt those good vibes.
  11. It always helps to have a strong offense. Middle of the pack pitching and top tier offense is still acceptable.
  12. If it was Bruce Chen, we would have won 13-1 instead.
  13. And Thunder mojo comes up big... I told y'all I'm better than previous results show.
  14. They should just call it now.
  15. Wow, we're winning. I didn't think that was possible with my mojo.
  16. Wei-Yen Chen is the SP for the O's, not Bruce Chen. My bad.
  17. 8-5 will also be the record with a win today.
  18. Let's see how well this goes over. I'll be at school for this whole game, and I won't be posting. It's the finale, and the Sox risk losing their first series of the year with a loss. At least they can split the series with a win. LHP Wei-Yin Chen (0-0, 4.35) vs RHP Justin Masterson (1-0, 7.59), 11:05 AM First Pitch, my favorite start time of the year. WIN!
  19. It feels so good. We're beating the A's win streak now, you just watch.
  20. He threatened to ban me if I did.
  21. Yes. I would so love to do tomorrow's gamethread. 2 game slide? Even I can get us out of that.
  22. If I ruled the world, I would make the Patriots' Day Gamethread. If I were a pothead, I would make the 4/20 gamethread. If I were from Boston, I would make the Marathon Monday gamethread. I think you get my point.
  23. I would prefer not to use PayPal. I've been meaning to tell you about this. It's complicated. I would like to pay myself (not getting parents involved), but don't have a PayPal. I can pay through credit card, send cash or check in the mail if that is what it takes.
  24. We're all weird. It don't matter. I just came back from a weeklong stay in the West Virginia mountains, so I'm especially weird right now.
