Beckett has an ERA below 1. Sure, this is only ST but it is a good sign that he is at least healthy and compromised with the team and who knows... He could end with an ERA below 3 next season. I would have preferred Beckett in the opening day, in the end he was our best pitcher last season beyond his attitude. Seems like Beckett and Lester will be strong and very solid. Hopefully Buch be the Buch we all know and our top 3 stay healthy.

This is why maybe some fans and probably even Henry/Cherington are pissed off, mostly when characters like D-K, Lackey, Jenks and Crawford are between cottons/underperform and at the same time we have a huge question mark in our pitching these days.

Well, if this is true, I'm with BV given the situation. After watching Bard this ST, He doesn't "deserve" the 4th spot. Doubront does. At very best he could compete for the 5th, but I prefer him as the setup guy where he is arguably the best in the game. I'd like to see Lavarnway sharing the C and DH position in a backup role. My guess is that Youk will not play more than 120 games at 3B, so....Aviles will likely help him with the load and Punto/Iggy could help at SS. So... I'm agree with V if you ask me.

Well, 6IP, 5ER. I'm not sure whether he deserves it or we simply do not have another option at this point ( I think #2); either way, the pitching coaches have to help him a lot with his control and improve his repertory. -

Doubront has the most IPs (16) thus far this ST and a 2.7 ERA. Maybe he and why not Cook/Padilla could take the 4th and 5th spots. I'm not sure about Bard in the rotation anymore. As I said, at least be strong in 1 department: @ BP, sending Bard and why not Aceves too to BP. Our offense and this kind of BP (with Aceves, Bard, Melancon, Bailey, Miller, Albers, Morales) could help Doubront, Cook, Padilla if they s*** the bed early in the game.

Bailey hasn't impressed me that much either, so... Let Bard and Bailey compete for the closer position for a couple of months. The winner should be the closer.

Well, To me this is getting clearer... Aceves might be the "solution" at this point at 4th spot. Reinforce the BP. Send Bard to BP where he belongs. Shuffle the 5th spot with the others, and find out who could be the 5th guy; there's no more gentlemen, we decided not to bring another SP. Crossing fingers and hopefully FO's decisions work out.
