I have a theory about Lackey, and that is what's gone on with him is what happened to Beckett. Last year, he sucked the first half. We can chalk that up to getting adjusted to the East and he was what we paid for during the 2nd half. This year's first half, he blows, he's awful. Maybe he just now is going through his Beckett-esque transformation, realizing he can't rely on his fastball anymore. I think that claim is backed up by his increased use of breaking and offspeed stuff. Beckett's turned himself back into an ace, Lackey could be turning himself into the number 3 we all wanted from the start.
